Allyn, thanks so much for clarifying that you live on high ground in a solid house that meets hurricane requirements. I was also praying that your warehouse (and our fertilizer) was similarly protected. Glad you and your family are and continue to be safe. We were concerned for you!

@26:22 Fusilade ll ($100 for 32oz) or Pylex ($350 for 4oz) will eliminate the Bermuda w/ 2 applicatiins in cool season grass but both can be pricey but mix rates per 1000 sq ft are minimal so it can go a long way.

I'm from NC Coast. Hurricane Bertha hit on my birthday. We had a party with no power. I was told not to blow out the candles so we could see. We threw bottle rockets into the wind. If you timed it just right, you couldn't hear it pop. As a kid, it was awesome

If u overseed mid September for a cool season lawn, when do u apply a fall fertilizer??? Bc I don’t want my existing grass to grow and not allow my baby grass to mature. Thanks!!! :)

It’s not just concrete blocks. It’s concrete blocks that reinforced for rebar and then filled with concrete. It’s sold concrete walls with steel reinforced

Always fun watching a beach parking lot totally clear out during an afternoon heavy rain. 😂 Just get under an awning and wait 10mins.

Hi Allyn...Great content. I plan to overseed my fescue lawn in 7 days. I will spray tenacity when I seed but my question to you is can i also spray a pre-emergent in 45 days after my seed germinates since Tenacity only lasts 30 day or is the grass still to young?

How do you keep your generator ready to go? Always keep fresh gas on hand? I am curious battery vs gas generator solutions.
@LawnsAcrossAmerica Жыл бұрын
My generator is dual fuel propane and gas. At the start of hurricane season each year I make sure I have fresh propane and fuel. I buy non-ethanol fuel at the WaWa and keep one of those stabilizer tampons dunked in cans all summer.

Allyn, I live in central Texas. I have zoysia grass that is two years old, looks great. I used Flagship for the last two applications. What type of fertilizer do you recommend for the last application - Fall?
@TheLawnCareNut Жыл бұрын
you have plenty of time to hit it again with Flagship or Double Dark and then sometime in late October your last application can be Stress Blend. If you want to get timing based on your soil temps, download my free app and it will give you a calendar and schedule apps.apple.com/us/app/yard-mastery-lawn-care-app/id1502311686

Allyn great podcast. I have a question about watering and what to do. I have a spot in my lawn where sprinklers were installed and after we planted evergreen trees. The xmas trees block the sprinkler from doing overlapping coverage with another sprinkler. Any advice? i live in Northwest Ohio and I have to reseed this area due to the grass dying last year and the crabgrass moving in last year.

Move the head to a better position. That type of irrigation work is actually very easy and something any DIYer can do. You just need to dig a trench and then extend the PVC and reset the head. A fun project you can complete in a few hours.

Our lawn loved the hurricane rain in Brandon..it has been too dry this summer and watering is ridiculously expensive these days
