Sir my father-in-law and I have always loved watching your videos. He was an Air Force veteran and I am currently serving in the Marines. We always talked about guns together. Unfortunately, he lost his decade-long battle with cancer and we lost him this past father's day. I've been avoiding watching your videos because they remind me so much of him. In a lot of ways you actually remind me of him. He would have loved this video. Watching this one for him.
@hickok452 жыл бұрын
Sorry you lost him. It's so hard to lose family members, regardless of their age. One of the benefits of doing this is hearing so many stories from viewers who watch our videos with their older family members. Unfortunately, I hear a lot of stories like yours, as well. After some time passed from losing my dad, I got to where I really enjoyed doing things we did together; it feels like a little visit with him. He was a master carpenter and could build or fix ANYTHING. Every time I go into a hardware store, even all these decades later, he's right there with me.

Overall, accuracy was excellent. I was shooting around 7 yards and all shots would have been in the bullseye if I didn’t get sloppy with double taps. Looks like a nice firearm. I bought a Staccato C2 Duo a year ago as I’ve always wanted a 2011 as a fan of Springfield I would’ve bought this over the Staccato from a financial reason only. Looks like Springfield may need to iron out some things though. Love my Staccato C2 Duo so unlikely I’d add this to my collection. It will be interesting to see what direction Springfield takes this line up. If I worked in Marketing I’d always send Hickok45 a firearm. His ability to shoot & discuss a new firearm is outstanding. @@lovetopew9054 It is a 1911 DS (double stack) as named and marketed by Springfield for legal reasons. I would suggest that anyone thinking about buying a Springfield DS 1911 Prodigy take a serious look at a Sig Sauer P229 Legion SAO or a Sig Sauer P226 Legion SAO pistol. I consider either of these pistols to be very similar to what some individuals are calling a 2011 (i.e., double stack 1911 pistol). Both the P229 (31.1 oz with 3.9 in barrel) and P226 (33 oz with 4.4 in barrel) have an alloy frame and a 15 + 1 capacity. The trigger is much better than some of the 1911s which I have owned in the past, and I like many do not believe that a single action only (SAO) pistol needs to have a grip safety to be carried safely in Condition 1 (i.e., “weapon with a loaded magazine inserted, a round in the chamber, the hammer to the rear and the safety on”). One of the most popular military firearms of all time was the Browning Hi-Power which is a single action, semi-automatic pistol designed to be carried in Condition 1 and this pistol was designed without a grip safety for a variety of reasons. I purchased a Sig Sauer P229 Legion SAO about 3 months ago after debating about purchasing a Staccato C2 which is a double stack 1911 with a 3.9 inch barrel and has a magazine capacity of 16 rounds. However, there is a significant difference in price with the Sig Sauer P229 Legion SAO being around $1,300.00 and the Staccato C2 being around $2,500.00.

It's amazing to me that it's taken over 100 years to modernize and double stack a 9mm 1911. Not that there's anything wrong with John Browning's original, but clearly this is the future for the great 1911 design.

And this style of gun has been around since 1993. We're seeing more now because the patent ran out.

One thing i noticed compared to other non seasoned shooter vids. No ftf, or jams etc. Wonder why?

I like it because it's in 9mm in my area it's 2 to 5 dollars cheaper than other ammo. So if you want to plink other than 22lr it's the way to go.

Anything would have been better than what we got. No doubt the creator of the brand would have delivered a solid story arch
