hello everybirdie! i've decided to do another video on how to sprout seed for birds. they are high in vegetable proteins, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and chlorophyll. sprouted seeds are lower in fat, as the process of sprouting utilizes the fat in the seed to start the growing process - thus reducing the fat stored in the seeds, it is important for breeding or molting birds, sprouted seeds also serve as a great rearing and weaning food as the softened shell is easier to break by chicks and gets them used to the texture of seeds (´・ᴗ・ ` ) also great for bird that hates fruits and veggies (。•́︿•̀。) common causes for sprouts to turn out inedible • seeds are allowed to dry out • seeds are left in standing water • temperature is high or too low • insufficient rinsing • dirty equipment • insufficient airflow info from || bit.ly/2LWxxtz

I'm definitely going to try this, I've gotten all of my birds by surprise, so I just did as my mother told me. But the thing is, she got these birds and her information from a not so friendly pet store in a flea market. So now I'm going to try to help them transition from all seed to some seed and many vegetables and fruits. Wish me luck!

Mine also went moldy, but those were the ones I left out later than the others. I took out the seeds that I saw were sprouted enough. Then I kept doing the same things to the seeds that still needed to grow a bit, after a day or two they started smelling funky and grew mold. I'm not giving my budgies the seeds I took up first since I'm afraid those might also have early stages of mold. I'll try sprouting again, though.

Hey plzzzz can u tell how to make my budgies breed? Cuz my male budgie is younger than my female one. Actually my aunt gifted me the male bugie with another female budgie but it died after few months and then I got another one but that also died now I have another which is a mature female budgie and the male one is almost 9 months but they fight alot. The male budgie bothers the female one too much and doesn't let the female one stay in peace when the female gets too bothered she also gets angry and starts flying around the cage and making large noises and then eventually stop and sometimes they also become frnds and feed each other and stay sleepy but fights too often. And I kept a little mating house for them to mate but when one entered the other one also tried to enter but they started fighting there and came out of it they only did it once and never went there again. So plz can u tell me how I can breed them when the male gets on his breeding age and specially how to make them more frndky and not to fight? Plzzzzzz!
@nightslasher50554 жыл бұрын
The male must be stressed because he lost two birds (females) that he deeply bonded with, I'm so sorry for your loss but give him some time by putting the female in another cage (preferably a divided cage so they cant see eachother. This is for later) Give the male 1-2 weeks as a break and male sure he's entertained. After a while, put them both in the divided cage and replace the barrier with cage bars after like 4 days so they can see eachother and after a while let them together

I have a question. I wanted to sprout some seeds too. But the Millet I have is mixed with other types of seeds. Do i have to separate the Millet from the other seeds or is it ok if i add in the other seeds?
@budgieyy4 жыл бұрын
Arte y Naturaleza no, you can sprout all the seeds. But, a big caution, sprouting seeds must be carefully done. I have seen videos where they add a drop of grapefruit extract or ( I think apple cider vinegar) to inhibit bacteria growth. Rinse once daily, during the 3 days, or more is better. Also, be sure to smell the sprouts for freshness, throw away if a bad smell. The general advice is to only serve to molting budgies or those you want to breed. That is because, it puts your budgie into breeding mode. Which can cause many problems. Egg binding, etc, etc. Research this topic more.
