I am a former classical musician and took a LOT of huge auditions. It helped me when I was preparing to be very regimented about the process of warming up and getting ready to do my mock auditions so that I could have a step-by-step plan to follow every morning leading up to the audition that I knew I would also follow on go-day so that the audition was as similar as possible to just practicing and executing the process “one more time”. doing special prep on an audition day was invariably a recipe for train wrecking or making brand new mistakes.

Speaking as a singer, you instrumentalists have it so easy. You’re told what to prepare, you don’t have to memorize your music, and you’re not getting judged on your appearance. Comments I’ve gotten at auditions include: “That’s what you’re wearing?” “Oh great, we just heard that” “You’re a little young for this, aren’t you?”

So if u dont know spencer, i sort of vented in one of your other shorts lol... sorry about that But hope you get what your going for, i had my highschool auditions last week and GIRL U WONT BELEIVE WHAT HAPPENED LOL So in the middle of my audition, my bass clarinet BROKE, and half way into my audition, I had to use my friends bass which was EXTREMLY Different, and somehow still made Wind Ensemble with him lol Oh and guess whatt.... so rememer how i play 10 instruments! Well my school is literally doing everything they can, to make that 11! IKR HOW EXCITING, their lending me a really nice german basson to plag during concert season in our symphonic band Love ya spencer❤❤ Please keep up the wonderful work your doing and i promise, i am really looking forward to hopefully seeing you one day on my path to #1 Bass Clarinetist!
