To clarify, rules for the challenge run dictate that I may attack with each copy of a weapon one time. Miss or hit, it must then be thrown away. Armor, shields, rings, spells, gear in general follows a similar rule. Got hit? Armor off. For this reason, I didn't use armor, shields, or rings with a couple of notable exceptions.

“Praise be the academy” “Tips and tricks you can pick up from your local witch if your willing to give them a listen.” Something about these little nods make me smile. Somehow the earnestness of it feels like it embodies the jolly cooperation of never really being alone in a souls game. That feeling of seeing a bloodstain or message on the ground and the little smile of knowing how passionate the souls community is. Anyway, my rambling aside, this was a really good video. I’m glad i got lucky enough to see this gem appere in my recommended!

I’ve got a similar experience with the free Dark Souls with games with gold thingy. I remember begging my dad to buy gold for me so I could try playing some game, and then discovering the free monthly game. Then dark souls came, it showed me that I wasn’t that good at games, but by persevering I can overcome any obstacle I want. But I never got to beat it… my Xbox broke. Forward 10 years later, I get myself a gaming pc, one of the first games I bought with my own money was Dark Souls remastered, I tried again, but had completely forgotten everything the game taught a 14 year old me. It stayed in my library for years, i wasn’t even capable of uninstalling it. Tried many times to start again, but always found a Great Wall I felt incapable of overcoming. Like that all the way until this year, 2024. This year I decided to change many things in my life, overcome many walls and mountains in my path, I wanted to persevere. I wanted to get good, at life. One day and after many changes in my world, I turned on my pc, I opened steam and launched the game. Took me a whole week of playing after work, but I was able to beat dark souls. Made me reflect on the last couple of months. I could see myself fearing change, fearing the odds. But in the end, everything was alright.

It's a perfectly valid opinion to think that there are absolutely no good multi-boss fights, but I disagree with your statement that the prime strategy for O&S is to wait around. primarily because my leading strategy for O&S is to bulk up and throw hands with the fat guy to establish dominance and just tank the DS2 lionman. it works 100% of the time 60% of the time 40% of the time somehow I feel like that isn't the best strategy BUT IT'S MINE! I was playing a backwards compatible disk on the xbox one, halo reach. No one was online in firefight, 90% of the time, and then there was this one guy. Halo master. His real name was damian. We were friends for years, and he was accidentally one of my gay awakenings. It's the kind memories that we leave behind that give us purpose and life, and I miss him every day. A hell of a friend, I truly hope he rests in peace.

I’ll have to rectify that mistake and apologize; I’ve now realized that it’s you making the videos not just entertaining to watch, but also the talking points you raise during them that allow me some time to ponder as well. Great run! About Manus's attack which you said can't be dodged: you already demonstrated it can be dodged, but for future runs, that specific dark magic attack can be countered by running all the way to Manus himself, the circle of orbs closes in but it leaves a small area in the center around Manus which is safe, no dodging required

I think Code Vein has a very good multi boss. People joke that it is discount Ornstein and Smough, but the Blade Bearer and Cannoneer fight has a major difference; the game is designed for CO OP. It even gives you a partner during the exploration phases. The reason I love the fight is that you both are trying to kite your specific mark in a small arena. Making sure neither you or your ally gets hit by your stuff, while your ally does the same. Sometimes the bosses seem to swap aggro too. But they don't seem to focus one person. The other fights are different, mostly 2v1 bosses but the boss moves fast enough to punish two people. Or denys whole areas. It tends to be dangerous to stand anywhere near your partner.

I’ve never played a souls game except eldenring and I don’t know if dark souls has abilities on some weapons like eldenring does but if that’s the case just get a weapon that has a ability that’s good but doesn’t make the sword swing cos technically you aren’t swinging your sword

Amazing video, but why link the flame, it's already been used once 😄

Fair, fair... But with the Dark being already used in the title, I had to choose between the lesser of two evils. And hopefully we're going to have a forge up and running for some new swords.

Youve got me curious now, when you fight the asylum demon first time around does he still keep the damage inflicted on him if you decide to run away to go grab your gear amd return??

You know, I'm not sure. I wouldn't think it'd remain, but I wouldn't put it past Fromsoft.
