Yes, Machete was a spin off of Spy Kids... kind of. Machete was made first, and wound up in development limbo for a while, but the character ended up being used for the lulz in Spy Kids when the writer decided it was too great a character (portrayed by Danny Trejo) to never get used. So while Machete as a character came first, his first official appearance anywhere except for a single trailer was here, in a family friendly film.

I just found your channel and have already binged most of your content. LOVE IT! But I do hope you eventually realize that a lot of the comedies you watch are satirical, especially this one. Robert Rodriguez created this universe with the idea to make all gadgets over the top and useless but still really cool for kids. His movies mostly consist of satire and dark comedy but for this series, he wanted to stick mostly with satire and whimsical (you know because it was geared towards kids). Although you can still see his dark comedy influence with the whole Floop storyline. So all the "ridiculous" or "pointless" gadgets/tropes were purposeful. Also, this is not DISNEY lol.
