Heat gun will get that tape off. Also I vote that sort of wing would look best paint matched to the car. I’ve seen wrx’s with matte black sti wings-not a fan but that doesn’t look too bad actually. If you use a sanding block and wet sand with about 800 grit it’ll be nice a smooth. I go to a lot of car shows and see diy paint jobs with waves because they only use a da sander and it ruins their paint job.

This or the 7th gen Celica TRD wing (maybe even the gt86 TRD wing for that matter) all seem to share a 3 piece Kaminari aesthetic. I'd love to cop one of each just to see how they all look back there. the MR-S has ALWAYS struggled to have a nice OEM + looking wing (100% agree with you on the TRD looking weird. ironically it's meant for the monocraft kit aswell). Reminds me of a cat with a rubber band stuck over it's ears. Actually, I think the 2002 year Kaminari rex wing would have fit a lot more straight onto the MR2 given it's proportions.

try painting the side of the wing grey and leave the rest black. it will optically "break" the size of the wing

Normally I think giant spoilers added to cars is really stupid and looks weird but this STI spoiler kinda actually works! The only part about it that bothers me is it doesn't match the color of the car. lol I guess it matches the other black trim pieces.

Wow that looks great, I think Toyota lost their minds when they didn't include a spoiler on this car and when they didn't give it at least 200HP. I think the low HP was because they gave the Lotus the 2ZZ engine and then they would look bad if the Spyder was so close to it in performance for 1/4th the price. So MR2 owners got shafted, but Lotus helped design the OG MR2 so I can't be mad at them.

With his wide body kit, but on a regular MR2 I don't think it would work. The TRD replica is a good alternative and it's not that expensive.

The newer one. The older one has a bottom spoiler too that sits on the boot/trunk
