I found out that when you can hit him with your horns at a point in the fight, you can keep hitting him so he won't move, and then he dies quickly. I couldn't stop laughing, and then I felt sad that the game was over already. It felt retarted.
@Gamerlives9 жыл бұрын
I can only conclude 3 things from this: A. Copeland was also rushed to put this out (which isn't a stretch with the whole Spyro 3 fiasco with music). B. Someone else did this or helped him with it. C. He noticed how bad this fight is and refused to make final boss music, so instead, he remixed Gulp's Overlook. It's also funny that he would remix that song since that song was ALREADY a remix of a very famous orchestration used in many TV Shows, Games and Movies in the 90s to early 2000s. Also, it seems that he also added new bits of that same sample to this remix to pad it out since they were not present on the original boss theme. And before you ask, no, i don't know the name of said orchestration, but i REALLY wish i did because it is one of the most intimidating orchestra pieces that you will ever hear.

Okay, since everyone's talking about the fight, my turn! I'm not going to lie, I fought this boss twice, once before I got all the collectables and once after, and let me tell you, I felt fucking ripped off in my first run. I remembered getting stuck in the boss stage when I was in second grade because I really didn't want to be there, just fell down the hole by accident and then I had nothing to do with the game again until one Christmas when we got a new PS2 (our old one puked out on us) and some games that gave me utter nostalgia (this one and DDR Max 2). Then I got to the boss fight for my first run, and I found out how cheap and stupid it was. But once I got the barriers down I was expecting another grueling round only for... Ripto to run off. I yelled out "Is that freaking IT???" in response to being ripped off and decided to just go about my business when I started up again collecting all the nick-knacks for 100% (some of the gems were hidden in the Destroy Riptoc Factories minigame X| ) and then I went back to the fight to finish it off and said "Okay, game, give me an ACTUAL final boss!" Yadda yadda, barriers down, final forme, turned out to be stupid easy. The only redeemable thing about it was the music.

While Ripto's Arena in Spyro 2 was great for a fight against a powerful sorcerer, I think this theme rather conveys his desire for revenge on Spyro. After all, in this game he directly attacked the Dragon Realms, and went as far as to mutate himself into a giant beast as a last ditch effort to crush the purple dragon. I think the middle part of this theme really conveys that feeling - the "piano smashing" and dramatic stings really convey pure, unadulterated anger.

Numerous bugs I found in the Ripto battle, in his second phase, where you have to destroy the fire barrier with your ice breath, there was a point where my ice breath did not effect the barrier, thus making Ripto invincible. The next bug is in his final form, where after hitting him twice, Ripto just, stood there, and the only way to reset him was to kill myself. Also, beating the game 100% and reloading the completed file doesn't take you back to the Dragon Realms, it just drops you at Ripto, every single time.

But I'm sure it'll also be because they didn't have time, we all know how ETD was rushed to bits. But yeah whoever did it I'm sure it wasn't Copeland. He probably would have rather them reused a boss fight track from S2 or 3 instead of using this one.
