I'm guessing the GBA games about the Rhynocs following Ripto and the only actual Riptocs in the games being Crush and Gulp are 1) referring to the plot of Ripto's Rage in which Ripto and his toadies are cut off from their Riptoc forces and rely on the trope of using reptilian Illuminati influence and bewitchment of the locals to conquer the land (in the case of the GBA games in question, apparently the Rhynocs are unemployed after the death of Bitch and Ripto hired them), and 2) rubbing our noses in the fact that Bitch is dead forever while Ripto will never die, which ironically makes Bitch a lot more important to the world of Spyro because the world lives in her aftermath while Ripto is Spyro's punching bag.

Spyro Adventure was my favourite when I was really young because of that longevity, use of puzzles, great worlds, and most importantly pretty nifty characters, it really felt like a smaller version of the PS1 games (though I wish the Sgt Byrd sections weren't so killer on my thumbs, I had so many issues with that until I was older). Season of Flame was my first ever GBA game and I never got past the 2nd world because it was just so bland in comparison. Plus Byrd and Agent 9 have better minigames than Sheila and... Agent 9 in SOF.

Wow, I loved Spyro Adventure which I think are the few commend GBA games of the series. But, like you said, it was way to easy. But, I will say, the music and the open world aspects. Fits Spyro's style of Task and Exploration type of platformer. But, that isometric view and Banana level. Goddamit, it was the bane of my existence.

Oh, for fuck sake... Look what they did to Bianca in Attack of the Rhynocs! She looks like an amateur stage magician who only knows card tricks! The cape is okay... mostly, but did they REALLY have to add the top hat? Why not a traditional pointed black witch's hat, or better yet, HER FUCKING HOODED ROBE FROM YEAR OF THE DRAGON? Bianca's outfit in Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs, gets... 3/10! I mean, I've never played the original Spyro trilogy, but I still think they had a thing going with Bianca's hoodie, not to mention her TOTALLY intimidating demeanour (wink, wink). That honestly was genuinely funny because it made her hard to take seriously. I mean, who COULD take her seriously? She was fucking adorable and it was rarely shown that she was even capable of magic and not just some poser trying to get in the Sorceress' good books. She was a character trying to cover up her obvious insecurities and flaws as a witch by putting on a tough front in the presence of her enemies. She reminds me of Kaos from Skylanders, the difference being that Bianca was trying to steal dragon eggs and not the fucking spotlight of the very series she was featured in! But in every game after Year of the Dragon, she was basically the Fairy Godmother, AKA the Ex Machina Fairy, who showed up briefly to give Spyro the means to get shit done before pissing off for most - if not all - of the rest of the game. She wasn't even in A Hero's Tail for SOME reason. That was my first Spyro game, by the way, and looking back at it now, Bianca not being in that game is just... weird. Her shoes were essentially filled by three elemental fairies who each grant Spyro a new breath ability in turn after defeating a boss, which is kind of sad when you think about it, even if Bianca wasn't doing much in this series anyway. I didn't really expect her to be in the Legend of Spyro trilogy, but then again, after the first ten minutes or so of The Eternal Night, I wasn't expecting MUCH in terms of familiarity in any sense. I'm surprised they even bothered with Hunter in those games. Hell, I'm surprised they even bothered with Cynder in Skylanders for that matter. Still, Bianca was a character whose potential stopped being fully utilised the moment she fell in with Spyro and Hunter's crowd. I mean, it's always a nice touch in a story when an interesting villain turns good, but NOT when their character does a complete 180 and their interesting qualities fade away so they can become a generic love interest for a secondary character AS WELL as becoming the fucking tutorial and/or Ex Machina character! Seriously, if the powers-that-be ever DO remake the classic Spyro trilogy (yeah, we all fucking wish), they need to take steps to flesh the fuck out of Bianca's character. I mean, look at Tawna in the Crash N Sane Trilogy. All they did was update her look and have her knock out one guard in the remastered opening cutscene and it went for MILES to give her character some dimensions! They say actions speak louder than words, and for the redesigned Tawna, that's certainly the case, not least because I don't think she EVER spoke anyway, but that's beside the point. I'd like to think that with similar treatment, Bianca could really be given some reignited flair, which is long overdue. 06/04/2018 Edit: Heh. Reignited flair. That joke wasn't even intentional.

Awesome job as always Jak! Season of Ice was actually my first gameboy advance/portable game ever and I played it on the old dark screen GBA! Season of Flame was actually pretty decent and I only played a bit of Attack of the Rhynocs. As for Orange.....I loved it as a kid, but it's repetitive nonsense nowadays and I only come back to it whenever I'm really bored. Crash Purple isn't much better, but that game at least had some fun mini-games (except the tank ones......screw those) and the multiplayer was...well it wasn't no mario kart ds I'll tell you that since that was the game everyone was playing at the time. PS. I would suggest making a "Top 10 Video Game Franchises that should have a cartoon/movie" because as a kid I always wanted to have a Crash or Spyro cartoon......and yet we got a Tak cartoon............

I loved Attack of the Rhynocs. Was a lot of fun, and it did take some time to 100% it, which was good. As for Spyro Orange, hate on me all you'd like, but I had fun with it too. Sure it's not a Spyro game, but hey. For a GBA game, before handheld gaming was a thing, I found it to be quite entertaining. Hell, I'd download that for my iphone if I could. Never played Season of Ice or Flame, but they both look like fun.

You mention in Spyro 1 GBA about there being no map. Not sure about the first one, but in Spyro 2 GBA, you can bring a map up by holing L and then SELECT. Shame Sparx only tells me about this on the later levels and not at the beginning of the game.

+SuperNova Thanks, I've explained in other videos that pretty much 4-7 and even 8 is where the majority of games ever tend to stand. I've considered taking out the scoring but I think I'd need to replace it and with what, don't know :P

+IJAITEE31TNT It didn't really ruined the spyro series honestly, the developpers of the serie made such a great story according to me... But Skylander did.

+IJAITEE31TNT I'm not sure of this... They were able to create a whole new world with Spyro in it. They just kept the main traits of the character... not like Skylander. I want to say that they exploited just a good part of a fantasist world with dragons. I mean... Did you saw an other game with only dragons as main characters? (it's just rare)

They tried something new, that's all. I'm just saying that I love the universe they created with Spyro. But it's like if first Spyro Fans would only accept open world with collectables spyro games... Okay they should have done better with the first Spyro series to makes a good game but here we got a whole new universe with good characters. The gameplay isn't that good but I'm fine with it.
