I didn't run into as many glitches though, which is surprising since I played through it numerous times. Either way, I loved the game as much as the old ones, was a lot of fun to play and it's even fun to play over again. Another awesome video, thanks!

A Hero's Tail is the BEST non-Insomniac game from the series and my second favourite game from the series in general

jpward01 How on earth is it your second favorite, though? I was very happy to have played this after EtD, but it still suffers from the same issue as many Eurocoms games. Eurocom knew how to make the gameplay fun, but they almost always skimmed on level design/variety/aesthetics. I noticed this while playing Disney Tarzan and 40 Winks on the PS1, and then A Heroes Tail on PS2 (all of which were created by Eurocom). It always seems that the further you go, the more repetitive and soulless the game/world becomes. From Insomniacs Spyro games, the first one had least varied levels, but they were still far and above of A Heroes Tails levels.

Yeah, same. I like the game, but I agree with your opinions on a lot of its muddy parts. The stupid hitbox issue would often times result in me getting essentially comboed to death when I was low on health (particularly on the Sparx levels and any spinning traps). Blink's levels were a slog to go through for the collectibles and I felt that Mecha-Red's boss fight could have used another phase or two to make it a real final battle. Still better than the turkey known as Enter the Dragonfly.

Honestly, I find this to be my favorite Spyro game. Sure it's not as good as Spyro 2 or 3 however I liked it for many reasons. #1) Eventhough you hated the 360 movement, I found it useful by combining it with the breath ability in case I get over runned by enemies #2) The main antagonist. I actually find Red as a better villian than Ripto. For one, Red is a fleshed out character and the game explains why he's evil. Like seriously??? Why is Ripto evil and why does he hate dragons? That's never explained. Also Red kinda reminds me of Bowser from Super Mario Bros #3) I'd rather play this game over Legend of Spyro, Shadow Legacy, and Skylanders anytime #4 I actually don't mind pressing Square to breath fire, since I'm so used to pressing Square to spin in the Crash games #5 The hamster ball in A Hero's Tail is better than the one in Wrath of Cortex because it has break pedals and a turbo boost #6 (This is debatable) You don't need to collect gems for 100% completion, so I don't need to worry about finding that obscure gem anymore #7 The double jump, I don't know, I just prefer platformers with double jumping and I think it makes Spyro more agile. Now just because I say this doesn't mean you should like it to, but I think it's safe to say that I liked this game better than Twinsanity and Enter The Dragonfly for that matter

All four of the dragon elders in this game share names with dragons from the original. It even extends to Shadow Legacy, where Tomas tells you that Sensei's actual name is Ragnor, again, a name from Spyro 1. It's only Cho-Lei who's completely original of the elders in that game, and that's because she's female - the first game lacked female dragons.

I would love to say that I've beaten this game but my copy had a glitch that would reset all of my save data when I got to the snow map, every time I got to the snow map. After playing up to that point 3 times I gave up. I'd definitely agree that this game felt allot like Jak and Daxter though lol

As someone who speedruns this game, I agree, the 360 things is a real pain in the ass. Also, in that one clip in sunken ruins where the game didn't load in, where was that specifically if you remember.

+BentleySpeedruns In Sunken Ruins, there is a checkpoint where you have to go up and avoid the green laser stuff, electric platform, then there is a giant drop with an elevator that I just skip by jumping down, it's the door from there. I was charging the entire time, I assume I was moving too quickly for the game to load during the hallways etc. :P

I'm being honest. I found more glitches that were in my way in this game than Enter the Dragonfly. I had none in Enter the Dragonfly (but I could still swim in the air and fly upside down). A Hero's Tail, I fell once through the floor in Dragonfly Falls in the secret area and my brother glitched through the floor in the cave on the way to Crocville swamp.

On both games. What's bad is that Hero's Tail is tied for 2nd as my favorite Spyro game with Ripto's Rage. I liked half of Enter the Dragonfly, but some of that really should have been fixed badly like the load times and Sparxx tutorials. The Legend of Spyro games are a little darker than the old series. Legend of Spyro A New Begining I found alright and the combat is really over the top and awesome. What's bad is...... yeah, you thought a Hero's Tail was repetitive. I actually do think Enter the Dragonfly is the better game over A New Begining, but I'll think you'll rate it higher than a 3. I think Enter the Dragonfly is between a 6 and a 5 for me. A New Begining is like a 5.

There's actually a glitch in the second world that lets you skip to Ineptune's boss fight. It's kinda pointless though, since you'll still need to have destroyed 30 Dark Gems to access Red.

Nice review overall. Surprised you didn't mention the fact that Hunter had the least amount of play time compared to the other characters. He only has a light gem challenge in the jungle and then the entire snow level to rescue Spyro

While Crash's levels and music are what you'd expect with the cartooney music and level design, the story and characters can feel very real and twisted. while Spyro, Mario etc. are all cartooney all the time. Just my opinion of course

If you make a joke that includes PTSD, or AIDS, or ISIS, or 911, or autism, or basically anything that exists, a big part will laugh and the remaining part won't. It really has to do with the person, not (always) with what you said. Allow me to elaborate. I'm a person who doesn't really care about disrespectful "mother-related" remarks, or racist comments, or anything that's... not really personal. I make a lot of jokes about myself, words are just words (to an extent, though). Just a heads up, that doesn't mean someone else won't get offended by it just because I don't, and you probably know that, but what I mean is; don't worry about it, the people who WOULD get angry if they were in my place either don't have a sense of humor or they just can't take a joke. While a lot of people think it's your remark that might trigger a negative reaction and that what you said was "offensive", it... really isn't. In my opinion, that is. I think it has to do with the person's personality rather than your remark alone. It would be very understandable if I WERE to get angry, right? But, I understood that it was a metaphor, not a verbal attack or, something personal, it was just a joke, and I don't use this "life-changing disorder" to make a big deal about it like a SJW, like life doesn't have enough problems. So those who DIDN'T understand that it was a joke, just simply need to get over themselves, it's their problem that they're stupid enough to not be able to look through the mist, because, see? I suffer from the EXACT same problem someone else who might potentially get angry at what you said, has, but I'm not getting angry, and that takes away the credibility of ANYONE with the same issue as me to get angry as well, it has to do with them not getting the joke, not with you saying something offensive - and as weird as it may sound, think a little more about it and it will start to make more sense than... fucking maths or shit, lol. My message to you as a very good content creator: Don't take it to heart and stay awesome! Sorry for the long message. Animu4Laifu - Current Let's Play: Metal Gear Solid: Integral Well thank you, I generally tend to not worry about it but sometimes while I'm writing or editing I stop and think about the context etc. and generally, I feel that if it's spot on then it's worth the risk of annoying a few people. For example, I like to make fun of Germany because of all game censorship issues they've got in place due to WWII, as well as the occasional WWII joke. It's relieving when a German fan tells me that they thought those jokes were hilarious, much like your comment, I get a massive sense of relief. Especially considering the heavy, politically correct world we live in today. Thanks for the feed back and we should, certainly is a small world. :D

I had the 360 degree turning glitch as well. It lead to me never feeling comfortable when platforming.
