This squat form might seem simple (it is), but it only works if you follow of the cues closely (e.g. heels up). Comment if you have a question, we'll try to answer all genuine questions. 👍

I totally agree! I’m older and stiff from a whiplash; then years of head forward manual labor. I would love to be more upright and strong. I’ve discovered going bare feet helps my balance and posture- a bit. You just offered truly doable, helpful guidance on strengthening for real life use. I never could do ‘feet flat on the ground’ squats (without totally rounded back and feet pointed sideways!) as everyone else is preaching…. Finding your channel brings me more hope. So, I’m subscribed and am looking forward to more videos. P.S. Your ‘Defending against dog attack’ was clear, concise, and EXCELLENT! Many thanks…

@@athleticengine Raising the heels while doing squats has thus far helped reduce my buttocks and thigh sciatica pain. Maybe you can do a video on sciatica issues. Thank you.
@athleticengine2 жыл бұрын
@@justiceguru100 Glad to hear it has helped with that. We will make a note of your suggestion and try to do a video soon demonstrating an effective decompression stretch that can really help alleviate sciatica symptoms.

Definitely adding this to any exercise routine! I do long distance running, anything that can help me gain strength in my legs in a different fashion is great. This forces balance which engages stabilizing muscles in ankles and knees (due to the different stance and heels off the ground) and it seems like it uses more inner thigh muscles as opposed to outer that I'd normally expect from a standard squat. This is a great channel, after watching this and the dog attack video you've got a new sub! Looking forward to seeing your stuff! Thanks so much! God bless you.

I wanted to comment on your dog defense video. Nothing bad, German Shepherds are the Best! I just thought it was funny in your demonstration that your dog was, I’ll just be chilling and laying down right here until you need me boss. 😁👍 Ha Ha!

@@athleticengine,that’s what I do with certain KZbinrs I want to get my message faster. Ha Ha! Mainly to impart my Old School Rock wisdom to the youngsters on the first reaction channels. They still don’t listen to me. I tell them my credentials but they only go by views, likes and Patreons. They want to find the good stuff and I’m an authority on this music. I Was THERE! 🤷🏼♂️ kids…..

Very interesting exercise, as a coach potato I have to start from 30” intervals, they seem to be easy enough. I need to improve my balance and sensitivity of my feet. I am going to share with my daughter. Thank you very much, I stay with you

SUGGESTION: get a mic for better audio. It is super important for videos. I listen at 1.75x most of the time while working in the Food Forest or while driving.

We have and use one. We film outdoors in a noisy environment, not a sound studio. So it won’t sound the same as videos of people who an acoustic set up. Thanks for the comment. If you have a suggestion for a wireless lapel mic, let me know. 👍
