I can understand people are scared to show theyr weekness to strangers both mental and physical,usually most of the time mental. Is a biological way to defend yourself and Is correct. But for God DAMIT dont fool yourself thinking you can squat 150 kilos in public if your legs are weaker then a 12 yo girl. Do an home gim until you get good e enough to not be ashemed on ublic anymore and start with no weights on the bar

@3:14 That's Chris "Mad Scientist" Duffin failing the squat you estimate at ~340 kg... certainly no stranger to putting in the hard work that it takes to succeed. I believe he is still credited as the only man to both squat and deadlift over 1,000 lbs for reps. I used to train at Kabuki when I was living in Portland, and there is nothing that so humbling, while simultaneously as inspiring, as hitting a single rep PR, then having Duffin walk in and start lifting twice that weight right next to you for his warm up set! 😆 Much love to you Beast, and to any of the Kabuki crew that may be reading this!

Out of everything Eddie has said, when he said he got kicked out of school but "I'm not proud of that" I think that really says something. A lot of people get success and then glorify all their past mistakes. I think this sets such a bad example. It's nice that even though it worked out for him, Eddie looks back and thinks "I didn't act properly at that time and I could have been better". I think that level of humility is really amazing in 2023.

Worse injury I ever saw was a good female athlete in the smith machine doing calf raises… She was covered in sweat, bar slipped dislocated both shoulders, then both elbows, then carried on down and severed both achilles. Whenever I saw anyone in the smith after that I told them the story (and she was an exceptionally good athlete, not a muppet), and put the safeties on.

Genuine question. I use the Smith machine to squat always. I always saw this as the safer option cuz i could click the bar if things got to heavy and the form of my squat would be a lot better. Is it really that dangerous for a normal non competitive workout day ?
@EvanPilb
@EvanPilb Жыл бұрын
The form in a smith machine squat is not good squat form, however it is fine for hypertrophy if you think of it as any other machine. If you truly want to squat, squat free-weight and learn how to dismount the bar off your back after failing a rep, if you can't do that then you probably shouldn't be going heavy. Mastering stability and fixing mobility comes with doing free-weight as well, which are pretty important for efficient movement, and with machines you neglect that, which again, completely fine for hypertrophy but for heavy lifting, you probably don't want to have neglected fundamentals in form. My favourite squatters are Tom Platz (body builder) and Clarence Kennedy (weight lifter) if you wanna check out how they approach squats
@Toonio-mk5ou
@Toonio-mk5ou Жыл бұрын
@@EvanPilb good info man thanks. Luckily i do know how to do a proper squat i also watched those guys, good stuff. Despite saying that, yea you are right if i do start squating free weights i should know how to properly do them despite doing freeweights before (when i worked out from home) things like learning how to drop it when shit gets bad didn't occur to me. Now in fitness i also know there isn't a 1 way is the best way it always depends. and i do try to do hypertrophy its my goal. I also noticed my position is a whole lot diffrent using the machine BUT. is it really a bad thing aslong as i hit the muscles i wish to hit doing squats with the machine? Its honestly for me a case of safety and the simple fact the smith machine is more available since i rarelly ask for a spot. excuse the essay and i wil remember the info man thanks.

@kidder923
@kidder923 Жыл бұрын
@@christiantrapani6145 they are safe if the side pegs are in place, but they can be moved to the bottom and literally it's as unsafe as a regular bench. Plus the hate it that you don't get stabilizing muscles because the Smith machine helps with that, so you are technically weaker overall. You can push more weight on a Smith machine that you normally couldn't do on a regular bench setup.

I have so many emotions right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 6:34 that part was just so truly heart touching words can not describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near time to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece , I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the bacon go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul , and I don't think I can ever be the same. this bacon has changed my entire mental state , I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. my have forgiven all my enemies and now I am a man of a pacifist life. It really inspired me to become an outstanding young man. Someday i will thank you for this masterpeice. You did a good job. Thank you so much. That sound is truly amazing.

I will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the bacon is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on bacon. hail bacon. hail bacon. The spinning rat, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a rat do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathizing her love for this rotating bacon. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any piece of bacon I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing. This is one of the greatest work from a piece of bacon I have ever seen especially on 57:42.I am currently crying so hard right now. The graphics, the animation, the music, so much thought was put into it. This has remined me that you can do anything you put your mind to. Not even mentioning the memories, this makes me feel like an infant again, just laying my eyes on this beautiful masterpiece gives me all the good feelings in life. I also understand what happiness is again from this. Not even to mention the most incredible part that is 2:10. rat spinning has changed my life for the better. About 20 years ago I was squatting in a Smith Machine, I went down, then the bar jammed on the way back up. The Smith Machine tipped over and I ended up on my arse, never squatted in a Smith Machine since.

that's funny because pretty much every exercise is safer on a smith machine than a typical barbell variation.

A lot of these examples are prima facia evidence why as a trainer I will only use a fully enclosed squat rack with proper safety bars.

I squat in a smith machine, but i dont ever put a lot of weight on it. Today was 140lbs sets of ten. It doesn’t help my stability for when i go to to freeweight squats, but i get a good workout
