Joe Sullivan and I got in a squat workout at EliteFTS. Joe is 4 weeks out from his first sleeves meet in years and worked up to a top triple at 320 kgs (705 lbs). I just finished up the end of a block with two top doubles, 595 lbs, and 615 lbs.

I seriously don’t get how ppl get to such high squats even low numbers always felt so heavy to me.

man you just gotta keep squatting, the more you hit 135, the lighter it feels, the same for 225 and up. 400 feels light to these guys because theyre so used to it. Dont give up!

For me it's been the other way around. No matter how long I squatted 70kg for 12+ reps, they would always feel heavy. The moment I transitioned to a more power lifting style of training and purposefully added weight to the bar, I could hardly tell the difference between 70 kg and and an empty bar. And it makes sense if you think about it. Your muscles are going to be the limiting factor only once your nervous system has "learned" how to move what your muscles can carry.

Awesome video. Why do you perfom the walking lunges the way you do ( 10:35)? You are leaning towards your knee is that for putting more emphasise on your m. quadricep during the excentric contraction and less on m. glute medius?

I need to reevaluate my squat. My shin angle is nowhere near as vertical as these guys. My knees come past my toes but if I try to sit back farther it feels like I'm going to fall backwards.

Are you high bar or low bar? How wide is your stance? Have you ever tried Box Squats? Used to have the same issues.

Maybe because you're high bar squatting. Try low bar and you'll see what they're talking about.

Idk why but this video reminds me of Trailer Park Boys. I guess because of all the "fucks" and "shits" casually thrown in every sentence. Joe is reminding me of Bubbles (because of the glasses) and Jordan is reminding me of Ricky (due to the hair color and beard he resembles Ricky the most). I guess also because Jordan is Canadian. No disrespect at all. It's just where my mind went lol.
