-3steps walk out. Clinging to the ground with your feet. - brace steps: under the bar breath through your nose then mouth, brace then unrack. Walk it out then breathe through your mouth more and brace. - open up your groin, break at the hips and the knees will follow. -your hands under the bar to get lire more upper back tightness. Rise from the squat with chest up. Not in order

6:35 Dave, why lead with chest out of the bottom? Doesn't it kill the hip drive?
@charlesfisher39836 жыл бұрын
孙志雄Zhixiong these guys are all high bar squatting. You’ll compromise your spine if you don’t lead with your chest.
@edisonli16476 жыл бұрын
Charles Fisher Got it. Thanks!
@ScottO846 жыл бұрын
@@charlesfisher3983 With the exception of the first lifter in the video, every person was squatting low bar. Did you watch the same video? Zhixiong, it's simply their preferred way of teaching the lift. Without attempting to sound like an internet quarterback, it's also the most common lifting cue that tends to cause people to lose hip drive as they stand straight up. Remember that many of the people associated with EliteFTS came from geared powerlifting. Suits, heavy wraps, attempting to stay very upright during the squat, etc. The squat is most often not (correctly) taught that way anymore.
@charlesfisher39836 жыл бұрын
Scott Ohlms the first two guys were both squatting high bar, and the second guy was who Ed told to drive the back into the bar. And if you actually listened to what he said, he didn’t say “don’t at all drive with your hips. Just use your back.” He said “if you only drive with your legs, you’ll tip.” Which is true. If you only fire up with your legs, your hips will shoot out of the hole and you’ll have to good morning the weight up. Telling him to drive his back into the bar is a cue to maintain spine angle. And no offense, but I’ll listen to Dave and Ed
@skoomskaa6 жыл бұрын

If you coaching someone just say what to do don't say what he doing wrong and even worst don't show him wrong tecnique. It's golden rule of coaching. Peoples mind is complicated and it memories wrong things. Also i dont like that chest up thing becouse it's often puts lifter lower back anterior tilt. Chest up is good thing if you doing it right. Otherwise good advises.
@MAGAMAN6 жыл бұрын
"Get your head up" That goes against everything I hear in most of the videos. I always hear that you should keep your head in line with your spine, which these people clearly are not doing. Of course, coming from Ed Coan, I'm going to have to try it.
@marek_petrovsky5 жыл бұрын
Dave Tate promotes this cue, not Ed Coan. Ed coaches neutral head. I listened him say that several times in other videos.
@allthings.vintage5 жыл бұрын
The guy was looking at the ground......... so yeah, get your head up. When you say that to someone who is looking at the ground 9/10 they will look straight forward.
@TheBilaras975 жыл бұрын
it depends on the bar position,in low bar head up might be bad but in high bar like the guy was doing its beneficial most of the times
