@@musaviki783 yeah some people can deal with that, but it annoys me too. i didnt watch much of the eng dub because im from germany, but the german dub is horrendous. sometimes background sounds are cut and you only hear the dub and then when they stop talking the background sounds come back its a fucking mess lol.

Gihun is extremely irresponsible with money he doesn't have, gets cocky when he does get money like he isn't deep in debt and paying the said deposit wasn't his priority. Yes he wanted to buy his daughter something expensive, but a five star will not cost more than 500 dollars for 2 people, then take off half that for family stuff he really could have paid at least USD 2000 to the loan sharks but he wasn't thinking like that. He didn't even think to buy a gift instead of spending all the money on a claw machine that would suck him dry. Like his gambling issues just reflected in these issues Also i love how you correlated the ddakji game with the actual squid game. A lot is actually foreshadowed in this series so look out for that

how would he pay 2,000 to the loan sharks or 500 for meal? the second he got money the loan sharks were after him then sae byeok stole his money and he asked for his tip back he only had 10,000 won, which is like...8 dollars. but yeah, you're right about the reason he went to the claw machine is cuz he has a gambling addiction. same reason he took the bet with the old man

So he goes for the option of maybe being able to get her both with the money he has left.

OP was saying he should've budgeted the money but he only had 8 dollars left, so I don't understand why they're talking about $500 for dinner, etc. unless I'm misunderstanding them. as for the claw machine, those aren't a good choice for trying to be cheap cuz they're hard to beat. you'll just waste money (he can't even win on his own). he would've been better off just buying her a $1 knickknack at a corner store and a cheap dinner, he could afford it and then he could've picked it out too. but he has a gambling addiction so he went with the claw machine.

I checked out the German dub afterwards out of curiosity, but when I heard that they changed "A player who refuses to play will be eliminated" to "A player who refuses to play will be disqualified" even though "eliminiert" exists in German, I stopped watching. Just no xD Also the original voices are just more immersive.

It scans the mask itself not the person. People in Korea face a lot of poverty so many actually gamble because they’re out of options and then it gets worse from there. And the lenders are actually like this. This mans is irresponsible tho lol. I also want to say, if you could refrain from trying to just find out all options of the show and guessing ahead of time, purely because that’ll just make it less interesting to watch for you. If you catch something that’s cool, but don’t actively look which a lot of people tried to do [I do realize you filmed the entire thing before releasing even the first ep lol]
