Yes those are scent glands. There are also lymph nodes on the inside of the squirrel cavity against the spine that need to be taken out. Those are tiny and dark brown.

Honest question. If you make a mistake and cook the meat with the "sent glad" dose in mess up the meat tast when cooked? Are those glan placements similar to a sunk? Do possum or raccoon have these sent glands? Ive gutted and flayed many of fish but I don't know much about animals

Late in the video you picked out something in the armpit areas...are these glands? I've not done that before...does it affect the taste of the meat?

How long do you keep them in that bag before you get em on ice? I worry about the meat spoiling on the first one while I'm looking for another.

If you brine the meat when you get home, and cook it right, you will have very little gamey taste

I clean them right after I kill them. They rare easier to clean when freshly killed. Also it cools the meat faster.

Im new to squirrel hunting. I didn't know about the scent glands, does it harm the meat if you don't remove them? I have 4 squirrels in the freezer already. Can I remove them when I defrost the meat? or is it too late at that point and the meat is bad?

I would recommend that you remove them when you thaw them.

He is efficient. He cleans the squirrel about :30 seconds faster than me when I'm in my normal speed. One reason I like using the broken branch to hang the squirrel on is that I don't have to control the carcass the entire time I'm cleaning. Beginners might find my strategy easier but KZbin has some good sportsmen showing their ways.

You're racing through the process and the camera is looking mostly your left arm and hands blocking what you're doing. You're fast, I'll give you that, but I'll have to look elsewhere to learn anything about what you did after you hung it on the tree.
