Squirrels are incredible pests. Worse than rats during the day. But rats are really bad at night. This must be 'round the clock entertainment.

The thing I like is there is a prize at every end it seems for the critters. No dead end frustration. Thanks for your kindness to the animals. They were here first and a lot of people forget that. I also have a squirrel circus in my front yard.

Adorable, I could set up something like this outside our window where we sit and have coffee in the morning and never get anything done as we sit and watch the squirrels play in the maze to get their breakfast. I love this idea.!! My dad used to have a shelf of sorts fastened to his window so he could watch the squirrels, this is so much better. Thank you

On KZbin there are sites where they show you how make bunny colonies, and raise rabbits for food or as pets. Kind of like this - it's really cool stuff! For all it's worth; i'd get a bb gun and be compensated with a good hardy meal myself. It's a free range squirrel farm!
@KutWrite6 жыл бұрын
Wonderful construction and entertainment! I had to stop after a minute, though, due to the shaky camera. You know, there's an option for KZbin to remove the shaking for you? You don't even have to re upload it. Just go to "edit video" and you'll see it.

This is a great solution for them to get a steady supply of food in the winter and not become fat. If they didn't like it they wouldn't be there. Looks like the work of a retired psychologists or engineer.

You could create a great psychology experiment with this kind of set up. Like those mice maze experiments. Alter the outcomes and see how long it takes them to change their behavior accordingly. The possibilities are endless!

You know what? This needs natural sounds. What I did was played the sound from the Norway Free Seeds and Fruits Winter Sled in the back ground of this. Also, for those of us who experience motion sickness, the movement of your camera is a bit nauseating. I'd like to see you attempt this again but get some help with your cameras. You've done a phenomenal job though. It looks like fun for the squirrels.
@ritchievernon80993 жыл бұрын
They might as well have built an underground city and allow the squirrel to get a social security card so he can go work in a nut factory! 😁😬

You have a wonderful and kind spirit making this. Makes me sick to see people that want to shoot these beautiful creatures. There are two types off people. Ones that like to kill and ones that love and nurture God's creatures. Bless your heart for being the latter
@josie40653 жыл бұрын
Glad to see another person who loves animals! However (and I do not mean this in a rude way), you do not know what you are talking about. Yes, there will always be the bad apples who enjoy killing animals, but the vast majority of hunters love animals. It’s hard not to have a great deal of respect for your quarry when they are so majestic and continually blow your stalks. We hunt for meat-the healthiest meat there is. We bunt because we want to see wildlife in the future, and regulated hunting is one of the most effective tools for both population management and conservation funding, as well as being a tool to surgically remove problem animals that predate on livestock and pets, or become habituated around humans. In the words of hunter and conservationist Jana Waller, “It’s not about killing; it’s about living”. For many, hunting is not just something they do for fun or as a hobby. For some, yes, but for many it is a lifestyle. There are many reasons why people hunt. There are many reasons why I hunt. I have already explained some of them. Other reasons are the opportunity to explore the wilderness, to see wildlife and learn how they live, to spend time with friends or alone, to gain a clearer vision of the world and my relationship with my maker. All of these could be done without killing an animal, but the experience becomes more meaningful when you are stalking to within yards of a bull elk in the rut while he is screaming at you from point blank range, remaining cool enough to execute an ethical shot with a bow (or a rifle, spear, or any other ethical weapon), tracking the now-dead animal, and yes, feeling remorse for the life I just took. Taking that life is an unfortunate yet necessary part of the process that deepens my connection to the animal on a level that someone who buys their meat from the grocery store will never achieve. There is a certain sense of gratitude and appreciation for God’s provision that is unique. There are other reasons, unformed in my conscious mind, why I hunt. Even I do not fully understand their meaning, but I know they are quite meaningful. It’s something you will never really understand until you hunt yourself. Sorry for the essay, but I hope this helps inform. Again, I don’t mean to come across as rude, and I am glad we share an appreciation for the wild and the life it holds! God bless you and your family, and have a great rest of your week!
