The movie _Young Einstein_ shows young Albert growing up on the family farm in Tasmania. One day, Albert noticed his dad was very busy doing something. "What are you doing dad?" "I'm going to flood this valley son." "But dad. That will drown all the little animals." "Yes son. In one go." I really like Einstein's father. Squirrels are vermin. They chew things and cause huge damage. I'm going to have to replace the back window on my house. They carry fleas, ticks, and bot flies. They carry viruses and bacteria transmissible to humans. Vermin. They deserve to be killed.

puppetsock Ah yes, such great logic. We, as a species, also cause a lot of damage (if not more) to other animals, carry bugs, and carry bacteria, viruses, and diseases, which are transmissible, not only to other species, but *gasp* also to other humans! Does that mean we deserve to be killed too? And that just about every other animal does as well? For one thing, other species do not need our “approval” in order to survive. Nonetheless, squirrels play a vital role in forest regeneration and seed dispersal, so they help maintain a healthy ecosystem, and we need a healthy ecosystem in order to survive, as it supports the environment we live in. Love them or hate them, other species have just as much of a “right” to exist as we do, and history shows us what happens when we try to “play God”, as some say, and attempt to wipe out species (I highly recommend looking up the Indian vulture crisis and its consequences, a great example of what happens when a species rapidly vanishes across its range. The poisoning was not intentional in it, but the consequences of this event do show how drastic wiping out an ecologically important native species can be for the environment. Vultures are keystone species, and they are extremely important in maintaining healthy ecosystems). If you wish to discourage squirrels or “control” their populations near you, I recommend putting up nesting boxes for owls, playing audio of predator sounds every now and then, and sealing off all possible entrances into your house.

One of my greatest joys was to watch all the different types of birds thought out the year that visited our bird feeder, and my disappointment of an empty feeder after a squirrel found its way through all my numerous misguided attempts to stop it. My greatest regret was discovering all the rodents the feeder attracted, and after settling in, they found ways into our house, my work shed, our garden shed, my truck, and my wife’s car, chewing their way into my engine’s air filter, chewing my engines hood insulation to making a nest in my cabin intake filter, chewing my wife’s brand new Golf Alltrack VW’s hood insulation and making nests deep down along the engine block, and crewing their way inside the car. To this day, when the engine warms up or when I turn the heater on, I still smell rodent dropping.

Golf clubs are a bad idea. Squirrels are far too fast for that. A pellet gun would be much better... No noise, no mess and if done correctly it can be dead before it hits the ground.

There's no such thing as "CAN'T" in a squirrels vocabulary !!! Lol Best creature EVER !!! 🐿️ ❤️🧡💛♥️🖤💜💙💚❤️🧡 People hate I'm, but I love their ingenious injenuity !!! 😄🥰🤣 Just like me, you tell me, I CAN'T, I'll prove you wrong, everytime !!! Lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Uhhhh.... maybe if the larger second disc DIDN'T have holes drilled in it for the squirrel to use as hand-holds, it would be a sound design... What the hell are they there for anyway?

Because he didn't make this to prevent the squirrels from feeding, he made it for clicks and more clicks.

Two reasons I can think of off the top of my head: 1) Help prevent that one wheel from tearing down the whole line in strong winds; 2) The more holes in the wheel, the less overall mass/weight of it, all while still retaining it's structural integrity.

This needs to be a TV program. Reminds me of that show... don’t know the name cause I don’t watch but the I’ve where people compete to get to the end and they are running on rotating stuff and falling in water and climbing impossible objects etc. This squirrel is flipping amazing!
