As a squirrel mum to be in the cold & snowy winter times it must be a tremendous comfort to know that you have the love, support & protection of a warm, kindly, giant who has access to an unlimited supply of food they happily share with you on demand. Cutie has known you & your kindness her whole life & has directly witnessed you showing that same care to her own babies too. You are such a foundational part of her world & the way she happily sits with you, then gently touches your hand when she takes each nut shows so much love, trust & respect back. You are her best friend, most trusted ally & guardian angel all rolled into one. It’s such a special bond & a beautiful thing to witness between such a gorgeous wild creature & a human. As always, thank you for sharing such a precious moment 🤗❤🐿 On a more personal note, last time I left a comment, I was concerned for my own best squirrel friend, who has been missing for almost 2 weeks after sustaining an injury & a harsh storm that lasted several days. I’m so happy to report that the day after your kindly reply, he reappeared & has been back multiple times for the last several days, gathering food from the feeders & even coming to see me in person on a few occasions. It’s so good to see him alive & well after what happened. Squirrels are such tough little creatures & his determination & strength of character are pretty inspiring stuff in a sometimes bleak looking winter!
