One thing people don't like about the 1300 VTX is the fact that they find it's annoying to look down at the speedometer on the tank to see how fast they're going, but after owning on for less than a year, I find it's easy to know without looking, because the sound of the engine is like an audible tachometer to me. Once you get used to it, you never need to look at it, ever. And you don't need a tach either, because it's a low RPM engine and no need to wind it up to get power. It gives plenty from idle on up. It's got some serious torque!
@JojoCrazyCat6 жыл бұрын
I have one, and true. No need for any more power. I can get up to 110 mph in a few seconds. And it will go 140 mph. That is fast enough. Way more power then a motorcycle needs. They are torque machines.

After riding the my 1100 Shadow for the past 20 years, I felt my dream bike was finally here and I'm so glad I bought it. The 1300 VTX is about the best bike I ever had. I've owned a lot of bike thru out the years, and the VTX is one of my best. The 1100 Shadow is still one of my favorites and i's going to be hard to part with it (if I do)

A wise man with good taste you are, Sean. If I wanted to add a cruiser to my garage, it would be a 1800 VTX. But if that wasn't available, a 1300 VTX would be a welcome addition. P.S. Speaking as a dad, swap out the pipes if you're gonna steer the bike towards your dad.

Being a motorcycle tech and a 50 year rider. I like you your good. I tell people Honda keeps power a little low to gain longevity. They have been detuning for that reason since Shep was a puppy. You can make a Honda powerful but they are designed to be stronger longer.

I owned a VTX 1800, i thought it was top heavy and the heat that engine kicks out is unbearable in a hot climate. Still, i really miss it, bags of character, great look,superb noise and i still want another one.

Your videos are absolutely great and always fun to watch. And as far as the prices go, you're right, your deals are killer. I hope one day you'll start shiping to Europe. Giving the fact that here, the bikes especially from the chopper/cruiser line are much more expensive than the ones you can find in America i think at least the people who watch your videos on a daily basis will be more than happy to buy from you guys. Till then, hats off to what you guys doin' and ride safe !

My first bike was a 2002 Honda Shadow 1100 Sabre. I loved it but had to get something bigger so the wife could ride with me. The only real thing that bothered me was the single disk front brake. Didn't do well in the North GA mountains or in traffic. Took a long distance to stop at high speeds. Now I'm on a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic and as far as comfort and value for the price I love it. May step up to a 2000 Vulcan next year though. Guess I'll have to check out one of Srkcycles test drive videos to see if I like it. Thanks for the cool test drives. I love passing the time at work in my cubicle watching them.

I started started riding in '06 on an '06 1300C . Zero problems at 47k miles in, love the bike big time. In that same time frame I have owned a '99 Valkyrie (for 3 years). While I enjoyed that too, it makes the 1300 feel quite small. I am only 5'8" and 200lbs so I tend to think the 1300 is fine for a smaller man as well as a larger guy. Currently own a 2018 CMX500 and a 2014 Valk. Notice ALL HONDAS! Be safe

Those bikes run lean, they definitely need a rejet with or without pipes. Changing the front springs to Progressive is very simple and will help with scraping the floorboards in corners, it prevents front end dive.

I had an 06 Vtx 1300. Probably the best sounding metric bike out there. I sold it and bought a Vstar 1300. Overall I think the vstar is a better bike but dosn't sound as good. I miss that bike. If I ever buy a Harley I hope it sounds as good as my VTX.

I thought the VTX would be the last sold, it was sold easily and had many calls. The guy that got it paid with no haggling. I felt the bike was vanilla but turns out allot of people like vanilla

Sounds like crap to me as most Honda cruisers sound like crap...
@rpmfreak91502 жыл бұрын
It sounds like that because it has a twin pin crank shaft. I found out this after I bought my first VTX 1800. We put a set of Vance and Hines exhaust system on it but it never had the sound that you're talking about. It was one of the reasons I sold my first one, but I ended buying another one a few months ago. There's just nothing else that is more dependable than the VTX, I have tried just about all of them them.
@saxtx092 жыл бұрын
How’s the vtx 1800 compare to the Yamaha raider?
@rpmfreak91502 жыл бұрын
@@saxtx09 there is nothing wrong with Yamaha Raiders or Warriors, I've had several of both. They just don't have the same dependability, power,or as good of a ride as a Honda VTX 1800. I have a pre owned Motorcycle shop in Chattanooga Tennessee, and mainly deal in metric V-Twin cruiser bikes" even though Victory Motorcycles were once my personal favorite. I tried to keep my personal collection, and the bikes that I sold separately. At one time I had 13 bikes in my personal collection, and several were Yamaha XV 1700s Warriors and a Raider 1900s. After COVID-19 closed down my shop for such a long time, I ended up selling almost all of my personal bikes. I just couldn't find any top quality pre owned Motorcycles at the time, and of course I had to sale something to make it through that period of time. I choose to keep my Victory Motorcycles at first, but then they quit making parts earlier than they were supposed to. That pissed me off so much that I sold the ones that I had, and out of everything that I could have chosen to keep it was the Honda VTX 1800. The closest thing to the VTX that I did have was a Suzuki M109R2 , that was a good bike that also was liquid cooled like the VTX. The Raider was like the rest of the oil & air cooled Motorcycles, just too hot during the summer time. The Raider is a power house on the asphalt , and a wonderful sounding bike as well. One of the best sounding bikes that I have ever had, was the Yamaha Road Star XV 1700 and Raider 1900cc. Yamaha is a good selling bike as well, so I can't complain about them in anyway other than the heat that they put out during the summer. At the end of the day I picked a Honda VTX 1800cc over everything else, that is what I am saying " even though they don't have that sound that the single pin crank shaft V-Twin bike does. I'd rather have dependable bike's over good sounding Bikes.
@saxtx092 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your insight and experience. I’m sure your choice of the vtx 1800 was the right one. I hope you reopen your shop, where I live there are few quality shops that will work on metric bikes especially over ten years old.

Torn between VTX1300, MeanStreak 1600, Suzuki C90 and V-Strom 1000....coming from sport bikes, I'm really NOT looking forward to a major loss in power....Enduro would be nice, still got a Twin, but Tons of power....and the Vstrom 1000 can STILL cruise on the highway all day without screaming Rpm's.....but it's Very high in the air.
