Amazing skills to do this. Coat Of Many Colors live is one performance of hers that is iconic that she plays acoustic with long nails.

I've heard Parton say her technicians tune her guitar so she can play 1 finger bar chords. Must be for some other songs. Didn't know she could do this :D thanks.

This used to amaze me as a kid. It did inspire me tho. I figured if Dolly could play with those long nails, I could at least learn a few chords.

Do you have a video tutorial on the style of country you’re playing? You said it’s one of the 5 typical styles. I’d love to learn! I can’t seem to find any other tutorials. Do you mind writing the name down so I can search again if you don’t have one?
@MusicDig4 ай бұрын
Hey Nicole, The "5 prototypes" refer to the melody. This kind of old time country music contain songs with similar melodies... Do you mean you want to learn to play in the style that Dolly is playing?
@ranalidana3323 ай бұрын
Hi! 🙂 Thanks for your focusing on her nails while playing the guitar! 👏💅🎸😉 I really wonder why everybody tends to play the Country music only & only & only with the Steel String guitar! And it's a law (written/unwritten) & everybody observes it! The Classical guitar has always been under shadow of Steel String guitars! 😒
@MusicDig2 ай бұрын
Because the still string guitar is an American guitar. So it's a huge part of the musical culture in America. The nylon string is considered to be more European. Still, there are country guitar heroes that play nylon strings. Willie Nelson and Jerry Reed to name just two.
@mistergmusicАй бұрын
is there any way you could do a tutorial on how to pick the strings to sound like how she is doing it in that video?? 🙏
