I haven't actually watched the video yet, so take what I say here with a grain of salt. Though I ultimately still agree with your assessment (even if I think it is only by a very small amount. Like, Goku's experience and martial arts prowess, I think would easily be enough to give him the win, despite being "weaker"), there are some issues with your assessment. Namely the fact that Goku only "couldn't beat" kid Buu, due to Buu's defensive hacks. Goku was of comparable power, arguably even more powerful, but he just couldn't get the finishing blow, because Buu may as well be immortal. No matter how much damage Goku did, Buu just came right back at full power. Essentially, though I agree that Buu with Gotenks absorbed, is more powerful than Kid Buu, Gohan was outmatched in that fight (even saying that he was holding his own is being pretty generous), while Goku was more powerful than Kid Buu, just unable to finish him off, causing him to get worn down over time.

In both the fights, the only reason both Goku and Gohan even get close to Buutenks is only when Buutenks gets arrogant and let's his guard down. But in the fight Gohan still had better Reaction, travel, and combat speed. Which makes sense because Super Saiyan 3 used a lot of energy and slows down the host.

Both were equal until Buu, who absorbed Piccolo, the one who taught Gohan practically everything he knew about fighting and one of the people who knew Gohan best, got in his head and knew all the buttons to push for Gohan to lose the will to fight. This video is mostly non canon and headcanon, here why. Even on the first day, Gohan had more power in his base form than Goku. Gohan received a Zenkai boost after his battle with Fat Buu, where he almost died, and he was trained by the Kai. In his base form, Gohan was able to effortlessly lift the Z Sword, while base Goku struggled with it. Old Kai mentioned that Gohan's Ultimate form doesn't require transformation gimmicks like Goku's, meaning that all of Gohan's strongest power is brought out by the Kai without the need to transform into Super Saiyan 1-3. So it makes Gohan the strongest fighter in Z. Base Gohan alone is stronger than Goku so i dunno why people still think SSJ3 Goku beat mysthic gohan.

Here are the facts... Gohan's potential is repeatedly stated to surpass Goku's (from the beginning of DBZ and during the buu saga itself) Gohan's potential is then released and amplified by old kai... therefore he is stronger than Goku, no question whatsoever. It's really that simple. And to seal the deal, Goku doesn't get stronger during the buu saga. He is never stated nor implied to get stronger from anything. Gohan is not the strongest infused character. Even in the manga it’s states Gohan is stronger than Gotenks. But it never states that he’s stronger than Goku, that is a key point to take notice. Also, Goku is the only Z fighter who was highly suppressed all throughout the Buu Arc. Goku was highly suppressed when he fought Vegeta. Suppression in form of not using 100% of his maximum power level. Out of Gohan, Gotenks & Vegeta, Goku is the only Saiyan, and Z fighter who has been highly suppressed. There is clear evidence in both the manga & the anime to back it. The only time Goku used 100% is vs Kid Buu. SSJ3 does not inherently have a stamina problem or issue. The reason SSJ3 Goku suffered from stamina issues is bcuz he got the beating of a lifetime from Kid Buu. The most amazing thing about this part is a credit to SSJ III Goku’s. He was beaten so severely that he didn’t even know he couldn’t recover his power level. This is a testament to SSJ3 Goku’s durability. Any Z fighter that is getting beat up will suffer stamina issues. But this is something you and the vast majority of other fans overlooked. What isn’t canon? That’s where your wrong. All filler in DBZ KAI is canon bcuz KAI is synonymous and canon to DBZ Manga. The anime in the manga is congruent synonymous and connected to one another. Two rivers flowing as one. The reason why OGDBZ anime is non-canon, is because the vast majority of the filler completely deviated from the Manga. Therefore none of it could be taken seriously because it created its own story are from filler alone. That’s why it is completely discredited and disregarded. And I had a lot of amazing moments and epic transformations and dialogue that we still love to this day. But basically everything from OGDBZ anime is not Kenneth. However everything in Kai is Canon it was created to be closer connected to the Manga synonymous to the manga in Cannon and it’s all right in connection to the manga. This was said by Akira Toriyama. So whether you choose to except with the author the one who created the epic store you love so much, or not that’s on you but it doesn’t change the truth and the reality of what is canon & what is not. The only thing you are correct on is that Goku did not get a Zenkai boost. But what you fail to realize is no Saiyan got a Zenkai boost. Not one. Especially Gohan. This is stated in both manga and anime, especially about Gohan.

@@HimenoMemes First of all this is Buu saga, Vegito will still have a better time limit. Secondly, Vegito lasted for around 40 mins base on the manga. And thirdly Fusion Dance's fusion has also been timed out early due to power taxing before(ssj4 gogeta or gotenks ssj3 if you don't want to count GT). The same could still happens to Gogeta if he went Blue. If you pay close attention to the Broly Gogeta fight again you'll notice that Gogeta start increase the intensity in his attacks the moment he went blue as if to end the fight early and even went for a kill shot despite not needing to. This implies that there is a time drain and Gogeta know this base on past experience so he was trying to end the fight quickly(the fight was shown to us with cinematic timing, basically slowing the fight down so we could see what's going in so despite how long the fight was in movie time, in actuality for all we know it could last for less than 5 minutes. The jump from day time to dusk was due to them breaking the fabric of time and re-emerging at a later point of time)

In the manga, the fight between Gohan and Buutenks was much, much shorter, and the little skirmish he had with SS3 Goku in the anime didn't even happen. The only conclusion we can draw from this is that Buutenks is stronger than Gohan and Goku, which isn't very helpful. When Gohan left to fight super buu he was MUCH stronger than goku this is explained narratively throughout not just this saga but from the beginning of the series when stated Gohan has the most potential of all saiyans. The time between Gohan having his potential unlocked and fighting super buu all the way up to kid buus death was less than 24 hours. Elder Kai trading his life for gokus was never stated to boost power, and was shown to NOT boost power by the fact that goku had SIGNIFICANTLY worse showings against buutenks and EXPLICITLY stating he was much weaker than super buu. You claim that Goku WITHOUT ANY on screen or mentioned power boosts somehow became stronger than Gohan?? When in the ENTIRE series of Dragon Ball has Goku EVER gotten stronger of the span of 12 or so hours? He had to train with king kai for a year just to STILL be weaker than Vegeta. He had to Train at 100x earth gravity for months traveling to namek and receive a zenkai boost to still be weaker than frieza. He had to train in the hyperbolic time chamber for a full year in a PERFECT training enviroment JUST TO GET TO ASCENDED SAIYAN, and it took him damn near a decade in the otherworld to achieve super saiyan 3. I prefer to go by statements in the show itself (since I'm an anime-only fan), but I'd accept manga statements as full canon (because, duh)... but everything else, like guidebooks are secondary canon, at best. So basically, Gohan has the best potential, but almost never matches up to it, so in general, Goku is the strongest at almost any given time. Of course, this is mostly due to Toriyama changing his mind about making Gohan the MC, and switching back to Goku lol. Otherwise, Gohan absolutely would've surpassed Goku around the time of the Cell games and maintained his position as the strongest, except of course for having to be weaker than any new enemy introduced so there could still be plot progression and interesting stuff lol. So, I would say that Goku was the strongest until around the Cell games, got briefly surpassed by Gohan, and then took his place as #1 back. In fact, Vegeta is probably stronger than Gohan, usually. Especially in most of Super.

It also depends on the version you are looking at as yes the guide books state that but recently one of the writers of the anime stated that Gohan and Gotenks could have killed kid buu. While for the longest time it was implied that Goku was stronger in the anime. Now if we look at the manga version. It's implied by Goku himself that he cannot defeat kid buu it's also implied that buuhan was stronger than kidbuu. Still this debate will never end it's like god vs ss4 debate. Reasons it'll never end guide books are inconsistent. Author statements change over time. Example currently no one knows what the multiplier for god is while 4 is a Saiyans current battle power brought to it's limits. Also kid buu was stated to be created by bibidi in the manga and anime but Toriyama then changed it to buu had been around since the beginning of time. Finally potara in the manga was stated to be superior to the dance. While the guide book has fusion as AxB as Toriyama was asked about fusions multiplier. Another thing we can look at is in the guide books ss4 is Stated to be equal to super vegetto but base Goku was fighting a character in his base that was stronger than buu and we know he was referring to kid buu as gt followed the anime and not the manga. And we know baby was even stronger than general realdo significantly stronger. What I'm getting at is regardless of what one uses later on the author or series will counterdict statements made by end other. Counterdicted statements. Buu created by bibidi, fusion being permanent. Fusion only being axb as super states its axb multiplied several tens of times. So in the end regardless of what one says facts or not do to retcons the fandom will continue to argue

The guidebooks contradict the manga completely. It's because toriyama changed his mind about having gohan or gotenks be the hero so he removed them from relevance and wanted to make goku the hero again and Viz Media/Shonen jump having to come up with guides that are completely flawed or make no sense like adding "the elder kai gave goku more ki when he gave him his life" or "Gotenks was only as strong as SSJ2 vegeta". It was NEVER displayed at any point that goku broke through his limitations at any point in that 12 hours it was instead implied that he got WEAKER after gaining his life back due to the limitations of mortal stamina. Yes goku got a zenkai boost when fighting frieza so did vegeta neither of which allowed them to come close to overpowering him. Let's say that goku did get a zenkai boost from elder Kai(he didnt) but let's say he did. That still wouldn't explain anything narratively. This issue was settled 20 fucking years ago when the saga first aired and you are taking what this guy is saying as law lmao. I've seen the comparising in the movie, non-canon or not, doesn't matter much to me. SSJ3 had the upper hand by far, Gohan could not keep up with Goku as a SSJ3. In fact, Mystic Gohan got beat, Goku SSJ3 wasn't. In the end, Goku SSJ3 had the victory. The movie was as close as it could be for the two showing off. On the other hand, the things Toriyama said are playing a big role in the canon universe. Still, my vote goes to SSJ3 , but based story-wise, a maybe .. an even match, i guess .. hard to say. Mystic Gohan is considered a bit stronger in the canon universe, but the movie (even if it's non-canon) shows SSJ3 Goku the winner by far, and to me the movie is canon, because WHERE else did Trunks get his sword from.

It’s really not that debatable Goku even stated SSJ3 Gotenks and Super Buu were above him. He was on par with fat buu at SSJ3 if not just a decent bit stronger. Then he got absorbed by evil buu, who alone is clearly several times stronger than fat buu. That’s an entire fusion amp between a character Goku could debatably beat and another he flat out just can’t touch. Super Buu felt Gohan’s ki from Otherworld before he even showed up. I know you’re aware of the inconsistencies of DBZ there’s plenty of them. I know because y’all have to use them to make any kind of argument for Goku SSJ3>> Ultimate Gohan lol. That’s also not what I said… I said Gohan can take Kid buu in a straight on fight but Kid Buu randomly showing up and blowing up the planet is not the same thing as having a battle.

The last argument about goku beating gohan in his base form inside buus body is so flawed. Vegeta defeated gotenks, does that mean he’s more powerful than gotenks? Also that wasnt even gohan he was fighting it was more a mirage/defense mechanism dreamt up by Buu to protect the bodies hidden in the pods. Stupid argument. Gohan is more powerful than SSJ3 goku.

I personally do not like to use statements to powerscale rather feats and showings...gohan although weaker, held his own against buutenks and completely destroyed super buu...and it can be argued that super buu is superior to kid buu, who goku as ssj3 struggles to beat. Further proving gohan is stronger. Also when goku fought gohan inside buu, its unlikely that gohan was the same strength as he were outside as you'd have to think just ssj goku is superior to him...which is just BS.

I mean Vegeta struggled against Piccolo (who should be easy meat for him and also SSJ3 Gotenks (who is leagues above them both) so there's no logic and the levels of the copies are not the same as the originals. You can't really use the fight between them inside Buu, the replicas were not full strength, if they were Vegeta would have had his clock cleaned by Gotenks. The only reason that Goku could have leap frogged Gohan is if he received a boost in power when he was brought back to life, but judging by his performance against Buutenks in comparison to Gohans, I would argue that Gohan put up a much better fight, especially when considering that Gohan should have been more fatigued after fighting Super Buu.
