I really hope this anime catches on over time. Because SSSS.Gridman didn't get nearly as big as it should've. Now let's hope Promare turns out to be another Trigger/Gainax masterpiece.
@greco-romano98525 жыл бұрын
@Not Todd Howard Apparently it's the end of a trilogy of shows. So I'd recommend watching those before this because this is a bit confusing at the end otherwise. The characters aren't terribly deep, about the same level of depth you'd find in something like Power Rangers. But I enjoyed the fights and the art style very much!
@Snaaaaap5 жыл бұрын
I only watched SSSS Gridman. And I have to say that as a stand alone show it was too basic upon retrospect. Pretty boring until the Kaiju fights scenes came in. Even with the school stuff couldn't they have at least be doing after school activities and electives (gym, sports club, etc). Even Power Rangers did that much. They just sat around standing most of the time instead. Was the budget that low?

I was too old for Super Samurai Syber Squad but did see a few episodes when it aired. Somehow I had no idea SSSS. Gridman was remotely connected to it, even after watching and loving, SSSS. Gridman. This is such a well researched and fascinating video. So much info I would've never actually bothered to to background research on. I watched some Cutey Honey and all of Kill la Kill. Had no idea how connected the two were. So much of anime discussion is biased emotional drama, first episodes of Goblin Slayer and Shield Hero, or just entire seasons of the, eh, sister love anime. IMO the final episode of SSSS. Gridman is one of the best episodes of any show EVER. You guys didn't even have time to cover that because there were just so many facts, rather than opinions, worth covering in this video. Discussing what you love and hate is fun, but it's awesome you all were able to do that while providing so much background info. Thank you so much. This was great.

Actually Obari didn't call out trigger for the animation finisher from might gaine, hell he didn't even animate might gaine's scene. I think Trigger have been working themselves up from Kill La Kill in order to tell serious and intriguing stories. Not saying Kill La Kill wasn't those things but it was more outlandish compared to their other works in terms of tone and "logic". I find that overlooking their recent works: Kiznaiver and Darling in the Franxx is a disservice to the work the crew at Trigger put in. I'm not saying do a documentary on them (though that sounds awesome) it would be great to highlight these points in their history to gauge their progress and accomplishments. It also shows how they've matured as storytellers from the raunchy Panty Stocking and Garterbelt to SSSS Gridman. Still a great video guys I just thought to mention these works.

When you realize the designs of the human characters are walking transformers references Edit: I wish it was, but those are The Dinobots from Age of extinction, Not Shattered glass. Shattered glass was a Mirrored universe were Autobots are evil and the Deceptions are good. It had multiple Figures and issues realeassed by The Transformers Collectors club and The former transformers Convention, Botcon.
@Prime925 жыл бұрын
They had to pick the ONLY characters in the series that are NOT references to shattered glass Transformers. That's not all. The episode where a group of guys who do a podcast are being taken out are based on different versions of Jetfire; and being that the original Jetfire was a recoloured Valkyrie from Marcross, they named the guys from companies that produced Valkyrie toys and model kits. This show runs deep with it's references.

It's 2019 and people are still calling Gurren Lagann a Trigger show. Having some shared staff is not the same thing as being made by the studio, why is this so hard for people to grasp?
@pierce24085 жыл бұрын
It's probably because kill la kill played a huge part in shaping Trigger's identity and that show shares director and writer with TTGL. Add on the fact that a lot of people don't look into the anime industry deep enough to recognise works on a person-by-person basis, it's not suprising so many people would make such a mistake.
@SotonyaAcckaya5 жыл бұрын
Because the way anime done, it IS almost never "this studio show". With a few exceptions like Ghibli and Kyoto animation, every other studio mostly do management and.... thats it. Every other role in production may or may not be outsourced or temporarily hired. Not only inbetween animators but even directors work can be outsourced. So, it is more important who is the leading persons of the show. Not the studio. Thats why TTGL made by those who then go on to form TRIGGER could be considered a "trigger show".
@BigT.Larrity5 жыл бұрын
Maybe it is more of a western audience thing, but for me there's a clear distinction between Gainax and Trigger, though with obvious overlap in styles and themes. It's also a respect thing, Gainax made Gurren Lagann, not Trigger. Trigger made Kill la Kill, not Gainax, despite many of the same people working on both.

In the case of both Franxx and Kiznaiver, the main creative forces involved were from outside the studio. Kiznaiver was written by Mari Okada, the scriptwriter for AnoHana and Gundam IBO, and Franxx was created by Atsushi Nishigori, the character designer for TTGL and director for idolmaster.

This is just my opinion but I’d argue that this is studios triggers at its worst, cause i just hate this anime. The characters are either bland and boring or unlikable, and the story’s all messy and confusing and then we randomly get a bomb shell dropped on us half way thought the series with a random character (who war never mentioned before) dumps a bunch of expedition on us. Not only that but the characters makes the dumbest decisions like for example when yuta finds out akanes making kaijus but his friends don’t believe him why? Because according to rikkah “girls aren’t into kaijus”…….. let’s just ignore that just for a second, so then in that scene sho flashbacks to where akane talks about how she LOVES kaijus And for some reason he lies and goes “uuuuh yeah girls don’t like kaiju DUH 🤪”. But I can respect ya’ls opinions as long as you can respect mine, sorry if I agitated any fans I wanted to like this anime but I just found more bad things then good things.
