Been having difficulty wrapping my mind around this concept, and it was this one video that helped make it click. Your explanation helped me take a bunch of disparate knowledge I had and gave me a tie-it-in-together understanding of SSE and SSR. Thank you so much!

the way you explained things in the video & the rough notes displayed in half portion of the videos are quite new experience to me. never seen such presentation and crispy and straight/concise concept in any of the KZbin videos so far.

i know it goes against the theory, but the R square of your explainability of the concept is > 1 . Love it.

Great video! But there are some places different from what my teacher taught me, could you please help me out. The first one is that since the SSE is the sum of the squared difference between y hat and the mean, isn't it should be the notation between the green line(regression line) and the blue line(mean value line)? The second one is the R squared should be SSE/SST, not SSR/SST, my teacher said. And one thing I think we should note is a higher R square doesn't ensure our model fits well because the value of R square never drops, if there are more variables in your model, you get a higher R square but the results may not be accurate.

How is SSE different from SEE?
@rachcastellino3 жыл бұрын
Probably different abbreviations. SSE just means unexplained variation in the model

Very nicely explained. Concept got clear but I guess you went worng at 4:22 Explained variance is not SSR it's ESS or RSS but thanks for explanation. 😊
@rachcastellino4 жыл бұрын
there are different abbreviations for SST, SSR, SSE. But as long as you know what explained and unexplained variance is then you're fine
