Great video I really enjoyed it! As a resident of Saint-Petersburg I just want to add a few things. 1. City is perfectly safe much safer than most European capitals nowadays. 2. The information about possibility to get a car just by paying to a random driver is incorrect. For several years now its illegal in Russia to take passengers without a license so it will be pretty hard to find one. Just use Uber or taxi its very cheap. Your average ride in downtown will cost you from 5 to 10$. 3. Best time to visit Saint-Petersburg is late June that is the time of White Nights and Scarlet Sails festival. 4. You dont need a Russian visa if you come on a cruise ship and can stay for up to 3 days in the city. Most Baltic and Scandinavian cruises have Saint-Petersburg on their route. Do visit our city it is really wonderful!

I live in Saint-Pete's more than 9 years now, and it's absolutely one of the best places to visit, especially if this is your first time in Russia. People are friendly, English-speakers are abundant (most of the youth speaks English, to some extent), city is safe, and service is generally at pretty high level. Bunch of good places to eat, drink or just chill with a hookah. Lots and lots of city parks and lakes, and don't forget about all the fountains, museums and galleries. Wild parks on the outskirts are a must see too! Thank you for such a comprehensive city guide, I'll definitely recommend to my friends abroad!

PS. Also i might add that the "organized crime" came in after the fall of USSR. Organized crime was prevalent during the 1990's to early 2000's.

Attaché , You will need a lot of time... At least one year just to understand the differences between regions, since Russia is a multinational and multicultural Universe. More than 100 nations, 11 hour bands (than people in Far East Kamchatka return back from work already, people in St.Petersburg just woke up and drink the morning coffee ;-))) ). Some regions so different in local traditions, food and habits. You definitely should visit the 'Golden Ring' of cities (it is very old and authentic Russian cities around Moscow, for example: Yaroslavl and Vladimir, at least. Check here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Ring), Tatarstan (Kazan city), Sochi, Siberia (Novosibirsk city) and Baikal lake (the biggest fresh water lake in the world, 20% of fresh water on the Earth).

What a huge city as in scale. My late Italian husband was assigned in Vyborg, went to visit him there in summer. Wow, the water smelled petrol and there were plenty of mosquitos. Went back and forth to St. Petersburgh. I loved their mushoom soup and all the savoury pastries. I even bought some to bring back to Italy. We didn't have a chance to visit the Peterhof Palace though. The bus left by the time we arrived at the bus terminal,

Great video. Herring Under Fur Coat made me smile. I was presented a large slice in 1993 by a Russian host. The "vegetables" referenced in the video were primarily beets. Probably some onions in there too. That far north not many veg choices back then. Needless to say my hosts were as wonderful as the dish was not. Beware and have a giant pile of boiled potatoes nearby to soften the blow. Loved seeing the changes since then!

Amazing travel guide! I lived, studied and worked in St.P. for six years. But it was more than 18 years ago. And this guide was very interesting and informative for me, even for me, who is Russian and lived in that city of my student period of life. And I was very surprised how many things are changed during that period of time. But I found, actually, this short guide is very good introduction to that great city. Of course, you need to spend at least one year in St.P. to see and understand 'the soul of the city'. It is so many absolutely unique places to visit! A huge number! You simply will need a lot of time just to reach them around the city.

Hi: I'm Kevin Hill: I want to thank you guys at Attache (my keyboard will not allow me to put the grav over the `e' - sorry) for, without doubt, the very best travel guides / Vlogs, whatever you want to call them, on the internet: always insightful, concise, accurate and honest, with no flannel or missing the point or going to the wrong places. I have been to St. Petersburg 17 times and I could not have said anything better than you guys did. I continually watch your guides and, as always, will be looking out for the next ones, although, in this insane world we all live in at the moment, I would expect that for the next few weeks or months, your chances of travelling will be somewhat restricted, which is a cause of great regret for all of us with wanderlust. I wish you well with your future, hopefully sooner rather than later, endeavours. Yours sincerely, Kevin Hill from England in the United Kingdom.

5:40 the concept of this restaurant is still extraordinary: remember the Soviet era in Russia today ... one wonders what it would serve but in fact it establishes a continuity that makes the break between the two periods less traumatic it is not necessary to make the mistake of rejecting everything in bulk because the perfection in bad or good is surely not the proper of the man

Best time to visit: end of May - mid-June, September, early October to avoid crowds. November-through April - not recommended because of poor weather and lack of sunshine especially November-December unless you want to experience Russian winter ??

Was in LED back in 2012 and had a blast. It was December, so very cold and dark, but I loved it. We hit up the Vodka Museum and I loved seeing that segment in this video. Hopefully will get back in the future. Great work!

The new terminal was built in 2013. Now LED is much more comfortable.

It's important for us to use local music wherever we can - brings the whole episode to life. We spend hours and hours researching the music for each episode.

I didn't really expect it, but the shoegaze-y, dreamy sound really fits with the city of St. Petersburg. One of my favorite things about this channel is about how... un-touristy it is? I mean, you're still a tourist, but you seem to go the length to cover local life and stuff that locals would do, rather than the obvious stuff a travel guide would tell you. So keep it up, it goes without saying that I love this channel.
