This is where all of the 1920s Valentine’s Day stuff comes from on gta online . The reason the tommy gun is called the gussenberg sweeper is because that was the only survivor . However most people I talked to about this on gta did not know and many didn’t seem to care. Small correction though the north side gang was not an irish gang . While it had many Irish leaders it was pretty multicultural. The previous leader Hymie Weiss was Polish and considered to be the only man al Capone ever feared .

FUN FACT!: in las vegas, theres a mob museum where a section of the wall from that garage is being preserved and shown to the public. It still has some blood spatter and large bullet holes on it. My husband's grandfather was Chicago for an electricians course just around the corner from the massacre site. He heard the shots and started run for the exit to see what was going on. His teacher and several others who were from the area grabbed him and told him he didn't want to know what was going on. Not sure if they knew or were just used to the violence.

I think this is pretty accurate, but there was some literature on this incident which suggested that the two plain clothes men came in the rear entrance not the front, where the two alleged policemen came in. They were dropped off in the back by a second car as the alleged police car was seen in front and the two cops got out. This might make sense because then the policemen would be seen bringing out two plainclothes men who were not actually seen in front when the alleged police car pulled up. Highball, the dog, was the only witness to the event besides the killers. 70 shots were fired altogether, 50 from a drum Thompson and 20 from a stick clip. I liked this portrayl.

I love history and I love this channel. So many fascinating things to watch and learn about in a timely manner (5 to 10 mins occasionally 20).
