I love everything about this.... Love all the artists... St. Vincent, Grohl ,and of course Trent Reznor ..
@nathanwolfe66983 жыл бұрын
It starts out so true to the original. Then it takes a turn, and following the originals lead adds so much more that the songs dynamic and general tone are ultimately changed. Somehow without losing hold of the feeling the original song has.

St. Vincent and Trent Reznor is a collaboration that needs to happen. I can see a lot of the same influences in both of their music, it may be the worst thing ever, but it may be the coolest thing ever too.

Everytime I hear Grohl on drums, I secretly wish he would start a side project so I could hear more. He's an outstanding frontman, and guitarist, but damn, he's an animal on drums

Man is no one allowed to do covers anymore? Y’all get so pissy with “nOt As GoOd As ThE oRiGiNaL” and constantly shit on any Nine Inch Nails cover… No one, even Annie, is saying that it’s better than the original
@kevinconnor60353 жыл бұрын
I also don't understand why they even need to be compared. It's not like the original disappears once this version is released. Just enjoy the music for what it is. These are the same people who always complain that Trent Reznor's genius is underappreciated. Then when a popular musician draws attention to his work, it's just "not good enough!"
@christinerobinson24143 жыл бұрын
Right? Also, how boring to have a cover by a different artist be exactly the same as the original. Keep playing and experimenting. Keeps it interesting.

Y’all are salty as hell, as a person that first listened to the original two years ago, this is very different, but not disrespectful in any way. Which is a thin line to walk on, and Annie does backflips on it.

I don't like St Vincent but some of her works despite her narcissistic charecter in terms of sound engineering are legit Hey pig, yes you... How poignant could show a hatred towards the trust destroyer this line itself_ and the line "nothing..." It's reminds me Nirvana's style in lyrics yet darn good!

Thanks for uploading! If you have a second, I recorded a cover of Marvin Gaye. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you would take a listen. It's on my page. Hope you enjoy!
@Olive121083 жыл бұрын
I had never heard the original, just listened tp both one after the other. I think they're both good in their own ways - I don't like covers that try to be 1 to 1 recreations, you have to put your own flair on it. I think Annie's vocals could have been mixed better though.
@momoney4re3 жыл бұрын
If on its own it's a pretty good one, but as an interpretation it is not nearly as enjoyable as the original from the emotionality of the singing to the instrumental.
@conradscala6793 жыл бұрын
Its a cash grab. She has no idea what the song is actually about but does a cover? Cash grab and comes nowhere close to the original as you mention. Its sad when artists do stuff like this
@kevinconnor60353 жыл бұрын
@@conradscala679 It's sad when fanboys can't just let a song be. You don't know this woman. Maybe she is a big fan and wants to do the song. She has put together a successful career with some very good songs in it. This cover doesn't affect the original. Just let her try the song. Yeesh. I bet you complain at bars that the cover band isn't as good as the real thing.

@conradscala6793 жыл бұрын
What was the point of this cover? Money grab? Attention? She'll probably get both. But to do a cover of a song that has a very hidden meaning that only trent knows of. Kind of a dumb thing to do. I find this so obvious a cash grab and pay attention seeking release. Plus, does not compare to the original.
