Fantastic video, these heaters are a pleasure to deal with once you work on one. Simple and effective. They can stay in service for decades unlike many others.

How long it did it take to pull it from the job site, take it to the workbench work on it and then reinstall it at the job site? Also what was the cost of the parts? Was it really worth repairing or should one purchase a new unit?

Its really not worth the time and labor vs just installing a replacement lol

Sorry it sounds like you pool guy is correct as the coil is leaking. You can replace the coil, but they're not cheap.

I have a question: Mine start liking at the other end of the motor the black piece with two tubes out of it almost at the end of the video. The tech say I need a new heater... do you think it can be fix?

Great Videos Jay. I am working on my mom's heater. she has the Sta-rite sr400na. It is a little different than this one but very similar. When I took the intake manifold off the inside is completely rusted. I have photos I can send if you need to see them. I am guessing this needs to be replaced along with the bypass valve and thermostat. Where is a good place to get parts of this?

Hi jay, very informative video, I have a sta-rite sr400 I hooked it all up and ran the filter, after a few minutes water started to come out of the side of the blower, not the side with the motor the other side, my pool guy said I probly didn't get all the water out over the winter and the heat exchanger cracked, iam pretty much screwed! Any thoughts could it be a different problem? Thanks

Awesome Video, the best teach people (as you do). The others (not so best) want you to know as little as possible. I have a question, do you use Lube on any of the O-Rings ? Manifold gasket O-Ring,Thermal regulator cap O-Ring, Tube Sheet O-Rings? Also I pulled my Tube sheet and where the pipes (Nipples ?) protrude through the steel plate, I have one that is shorter than the other eleven nipples. I believe my unit froze without being drained.
