It sounds like you're expressing frustration over the way some car brands, like Hyundai, emphasize flashy features, while others, like Volkswagen, stick to the fundamentals of power and driving dynamics. Citroën, as you pointed out, seems to strike a balance with a variety of attributes. It's common for consumers to have differing priorities based on what they value-whether that's performance, design, or modern features. Each brand offers something unique, and it seems you're leaning towards appreciating the core driving experience (like VW's power) over just having a car full of extra features. At the same time, Citroën might stand out for its versatility, offering a mix of style, comfort, and practicality, which could appeal to a broader audience. What are your thoughts on how Indian car buyers are shaping their preferences in this regard?
@SohamSarafАй бұрын
Indian car buyers have some of the worst preferences unfortunately. Indians prioritise genuinely the wrong stuff whilst buying a car. Yes, fuel economy, space are important aspects to look at while buying a car but accepting bad build quality or buying a car for "ADAS" features or other gimmicks is what is killing the market. Taxes on cars in India are ridiculous and I understand that the buyer is cornered into buying localised products. But unfortunately the localised products even the newer VWs for a matter of fact are sub-par at best. Indians need to strive for better build quality, better engines, more variety because our market is genuinely just sad at the moment which was not the case from '00-'10.
@AdwatismАй бұрын
I think Hyundai will slowly emphazing on driving dynamics bcuz Hyundai makes changes according to the customer demands and customers are leaning more towards driving feeling nowadays

Citroens are basically known for making comfortable cars, but at the cost of dynamics and body roll. For me the body roll makes me very uncomfortable even if I'm sitting in the back seat, So there is no point to emphasize its comfort. Or the type of comfort it offered sounds good to only a very small amount of people. I love tata in that regard for making perfectly balanced cars, they are comfortable and best handlers among other cars.

@athuldominicАй бұрын
Its resolved.. And that issue used to arise at 85k kilometers.. Which majority indians doesn't drive in there life time
@tankachenАй бұрын
It seems to have been solved with new piston rings, new belt/chain (I am not sure if we have the chain on the Basalt as it has not been generalized to all models). Moreover, the maintenance intervals are much shorter in India (I think 10,000km/1 year max, vs 20,000km/ no time limit in Europe): so the oil will remain cleaner, the oil consumption should not affect the engine so much, and the mechanics will see if there is a belt degradation. In any case, if you check the oil level and the condition of the timing belt (which is easy by just opening the oil filler cap), you should be safe.
@sunilcherianpullockaran8817Ай бұрын
Citroën does not manufacture wet timing belt engines for their turbocharged 1.2 litre models any more. Unfortunately, the chain and toothed-wheel used for the engine is pretty narrow in relation to other engines. No idea about the timing chain change intervals, but it should last you at least 1,50,000km, and if not they have to go back to the drawing board.

It's a good car no doubt but for the money that one pays for the top variant we definitely deserve better interior quality, and the exterior doesn't wow for a new car. I saw one in flesh , and it looked like it's an old car, the paint quality is not the same as VW or even Mahindra. (Not gonna say Tata because even though the paint is definitely better but there are so many problems with the quality of application with Tata and I have a personal experience with it) I see this because I own a Tata altroz iturbo and a polo 1l tsi, and both of their interior and exterior are much higher quality(minus the defects on Tata with the quality of paint is good).
