This is the smallest board we've ever tested and it did not disappoint. But the DHD Mini Twin is not for everyone... Surfer: 5'5 x 135 (60 kg) Board: 4'8 x 19.5 x 2.75 x 23 L

You guys should do a 'how to surf' series with michael. His level of surfing is really good yet relatable to intermediate/advanced every day surfers so I think his insights into things like frontside airs or flat spins would be really cool.

Agreed but the board he's using for his body is totally warped from an average bloke. a 5'10 5'11 shortboard for most is a stepup gun for him.

You can’t go wrong with Akila Aipa twin fin set. They are truly the best fins out there!

I just picked up a 5’4 DMS Gherkin last week. The board is nuts. People freak when they see the bat tail lol

@Earl Narajos I swear it's probably the fastest board. It looks so weird but it works so good.

That’s crazy that you weren’t bogging the front rail. Your stance looked way too wide for that little thing. Kudos to you for figuring that thing out. You were ripping.

You handled that board so well I thought Toledo was doing the vid!

I feel like it takes a real style guru like Asher or Machado to make tiny boards like that look good. You were ripping though, props for making it work.

I had that board before & I say the same thing. Upright fins are the way to go. I think it's because the fins on that board are already far back. On the other hand, I can say that I didn't think it was that easy to surf. Not like a traditional Twin Fin. It´s way more performence! So I think that board is more suitable for experienced surfers not for beginners. I´m not a beginer, but a like easy...! 😅

I have a twin fin with Rasta keels and am looking to experiment with a more upright fin to loosen it up and a tighter pivot in the pocket. Are the akila fins good for bigger guys (200 lbs)as well?

Board looks too short for you in my opinion, maybe a 5'0 or 5'1 would have been a better choice... who knows. Nice video though

Still think the smaller board theory is flawed you need a rail line for better drawn-out cutbacks on these fishes

Amazing talent to be able to surf a board like that especially first time. That being said something just looks off... unaesthetically pleasing to the eye. I get the going shorter but too short just looks awkward in my opinion.

Can you please play the Oompa Loompa song everytime Mikey surfs? Maybe just remix a little for each video. Like Oompa Loompa trip hop one video. Oompa Loompa boom bap the next etc.
