kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnubfoOFZsyKntU Shooters, I’m getting a lot of comments concerning the Staccato having a red dot while the Glock does not. Check out my Staccato first impressions video...kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnubfoOFZsyKntU I’m shooting both fast and accurately and at extreme distances with irons with no problem. You’ll have to trust me, a red dot doesn’t impact my time and accuracy on these drills much at all, though for others it might.
@xxthadeucexx3 жыл бұрын
The red dot affects your accuracy and time in a positive way especially at distance. Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics has shown this time and time again. I don't doubt that the C2 will outperform any Glock but the red dot does makes a difference.
@shootersresourcechannel6423 жыл бұрын
@@xxthadeucexx thanks for stopping by. I agree with you, a red dot will positively impact accuracy and speed when you train with it. You can see that in the competition world, dot shooters are in a separate class and held to a slightly higher standard. I think the key word in my statement above is “MY”. It doesn’t greatly alter MY times or accuracy because I don’t shoot them that often..look at my video archives, I’m shooting irons at least 9 out of 10 videos. I shoot dots enough not to have to search for them on the draw, but not enough to gain a major advantage at this time. I have an astigmatism as well that impacts the dots precision. Take care, and enjoy your day Deuce.

@@shootersresourcechannel642 Ahhh. I gotcha. I was taking that as you were saying they(red dots) don't make a difference. Also, I feel your pain on the astigmastism especially when I'm using dots on my rifles. Excellent content by the way.

I agree- personally after shooting a lot of rounds through my XL and C2 comped with red dots and kept the optic on my XL but took it off my C2 comped . For probable SD situations I don't think the optic will make a major difference. This comparison is good because they’re 2 of the best duty pistols on the market. I have 10’s of thousands of rounds through both. It’s quite simple. Remove the cost and what you have is: Glocks are much more practical, and carry better. Staccatos are easier to shoot but heavier with a bit more challenging maintenance. Forget accuracy, speed or finish. Both are solid in those departments, with reps. Worth noting, a Glock trigger can never be as fast as a 2011 trigger though. Both are excellent, personal preference.

Here in Aus, a Stacatto runs $8500 AUD. Gen 5 G17 $1150 AUD The difference in fit and finish and shooting experience is there of course. However, it is not 7-8x better to warrant the price being 7-8x higher. Diminishing returns is real with this. The value proposition for your money in the Glock is what wins for the majority of people. There's nothing wrong with wanting both. They serve different markets imo. Additionally, the reality is that 95 per cent or more of shooters won't be at the level to maximise a Glock let alone exploit the Stacattos potential.

Having worked the P next to the G34 I had a significant improvement with the P model. I'm hoping for the same with the C2 when I can afford one. My 19 has more wear than yours is showing. My G34 has even more. They have thousands of rounds through them in training, some competitions and training at work (VCQB along with basic stuff). The Glock is a combat accurate pistol so at ranges of up to 25 yards would be considered for combat effective where as 1911/2011 can put a bullseye shot at 50 yards. Different tools for different applications. If you can afford it obviously the staccato is superior to glocks and I plan on getting one myself one of the these days for duty use.

Do you think the C2 is worth the extra money compared to the MR920 (or XR920)? Optics makes no sense either, most of the self defense shootings happens in very close distances and you dont even aim or extend your arms, besides the prosecutor going to use any optic or laser against you or any attached light for counterweight recoil. Steel or aluminum frame? Any idea on which one is better?
@shootersresourcechannel6423 жыл бұрын
The Staccato has a two piece frame, aluminum top and polymer grip. Both steel and aluminum have their pros and cons, steel is heavier, but wears less. The extra weight can reduce recoil, but it’s a chore to carry. Aluminum guns help provide an all metal gun at a reduced weight. If you are buying a 1911 in 45acp the aluminum will be more snappy, but in 9mm it’ll be a joy to shoot. Take care, hope that helps.

Single action and red dots not allowed in Kansas city police department for duty. My security company follows there guidelines so will use Glock 17M Ameriglow sites. Training also with Staccato C2 for conceal carry and have changed my technique on engagement of thumb safety to engage grip safety and overall grip. Seems to be a problem on Staccato groups people using ranger band or pinning grip safety. 🤔 not a expert here , just trying to train with what works for me.

I found carrying open with a holster that rides high has changed a lot for me. Even my p365 seemed uncomfortable at times when iwb. My shirts cover up my pistol and have never had anyone even notice I'm open carrying. I now find myself carrying 100% of the time as before I would hesitate to fiddle with shoving a holster in my waistband and find that sweet spot just to run to the gas station. Now my holster stays on my belt and it's just 2nd nature to throw a gun in before I go anywhere. What works for me might not be the case for everyone but I recommend giving it a try if you can relate to anything I've said

@@shootersresourcechannel642 oh ok, I thought the c2 was a single stack, i guess i missed that part? I had a rifle paid in full for a year and a half on allocation, i cashed it in , it never showed, and picked up a Staccatto P DPO, with the RMR plate, I really wasnt in the market for one, but the dealer demanded a 20% restocking fee for a rifle that never came in, so I got that and a Glock 48 with the credit? My wife picked it up in her name because ive been gone at work for months? But I really have no interest in it, im not a 9mm 1911, or 2011 guy, so its up for sale or trade , new in my safe with tags?

What made you go with the C2 over the P? Just curious. I’m thinking about buying one. Kinda like the look and feel of the C2, but it would be majority an OWB weapon being so heavy
@shootersresourcechannel6423 жыл бұрын
I went with the c2 as it is a little light and more compact. I carry it IWB and because the P’s 4.4” bull barrel doesn’t meet IDPA’s standard of bull barrels 4.25” or less.

There’s simply no comparison between a 2011 trigger and a striker fired firearms. So which one is better? It’s a of personal taste, budget, and needs. Many can’t afford a 2k+ firearm platform. Whereas the Glock is simply more affordable. So to compare a 2011 trigger to a striker fired fired mechanism.

Put a little money in the glock and the trigger and recoil can be tons better and still be less than half of a staccato. I'd love to have one but the prices are absolutely insane.

While you can explain away that the test is only for 10 yards you have invalidated the test since the Glock doesn’t have a red dot. I would have been more impressed if the Glock had the red dot and the Staccato had just the irons.

I would expect an “apples to apples” response from a quality guru. I should have done a design of experiments and determine which features made a significant difference in performance :) I honestly just didn’t feel like taking my red dot off the staccato, so you’ll have to take my word for it, I do my first impressions video of the staccato without red dot and you’ll see it’s hard to miss with it... the G19 is great but it’s not on the same level.
