There is a place for fractional gold- peer to peer transactions for example. As gold increases in value the fractional gold is an affordable option for many, imo. Sure- the full ounce is the better buy but as you said it's out of reach for many financially. Great video!

Spot on. One ounce of gold costs less than ten 1/10th ounces of gold but I’d rather have ten 1/10th ounces than zero ounces. I’ve stacked thirty-four 1/10 ounce coins so far, mostly American Gold Eagles but I have 8 from the Perth Mint and a couple of Britannias and couple of Maples. This year I’ve stacked twenty 1/4 oz coins, mostly AGEs but also Liberty Head and Indian Head Half Eagles. My first love is the Liberty Head Eagle, which I collect. Over the years I’ve managed to pick up some 1 oz Gold Buffalos, 1 oz AGEs, a couple of St. Gaudens, a couple of Liberty Head Double Eagles and a 1 oz gold Britannia. When I’m looking at my stack, never once have I said, “If I had saved my money I could have one one-ounce coin instead of these eight 1/10th oz coins.”

Hi there. Just found this video and subscribed. Been stacking Gold and Silver for more than a year and for the same exact reason you started. I have a spending problem and my money never stays in my bank account very long... AT ALL! So, a full 1oz coin is well beyond my reach for now and I'm currently working on a 1/10oz tube and 1/4oz tube of Eagles. If anyone chastises you for buying fractional gold instead of saving for a full ounce, just tell them these 3 words: "There's the door!" Happy stacking to you!

SD Bullion prices: 1/4 gold eagle: $2284/oz 2g A-H Kinebar: $2205/oz You can get a 2g and a 1g bar for the same price as one 1/4 eagle. I do agree with you: I stack 2-20g gold bars and prefer 1/2 oz silver, because, if prices go to the moon, then you can sell to the public and recover 100% of your premium; if you only buy 1+ ounces of gold then you're at the mercy of penny-pinchers when you go to sell it.

Got to love 1/4 oz gold. My favored coins are the Britannia and the Maple leaf. Sure the premium is higher VS the full oz , there's something about holding a full tube of 1/4 oz gold. A full tube of 1 ouncers' would be amazing, not on my budget however. Important to have emergency cash and silver to protect the gold. sovereigns have great premiums for fractional gold. basically a 1/4 oz piece with 5-6% premium as standard. Huge market for them too. If all things were equal I'd prefer to have 10 x 1/10 oz pieces over the 1oz due to greater divisibility so if I can get at a good price I'd always prefer the higher number of coins vs 1 large coin.

People who argue that fractional Gold is to expensive make me laugh. I buy a 1/10oz every month with rewards. If a 1/10 is $220 and I use $50 in rewards, thats buying fractional Gold for $1700 a ounce. Im not sure how $200 UNDER SPOT per ounce is to expensive. 🙄 The argument for the last 3 years that Gold is to expensive is funny too. For the last 3 years premiums on 1/10 Gold has been WAY cheaper than any Silver.
