Hey Jason, Installing my Tom's 2.5 front suspension now. My springs did not go on as easy as yours. There was no gap at the bottom of the spring to clear the retainer tap so had to improvise there. Funny my shock tower frame mounts and shock mounts are different than yours. Your video is a great reference. I was looking for you at Super Cel east. Take Care!

I had to tell David Brady I could not be there....Jack...lol. I wish I had the money to do that to the Kia given to me, but it won't happen. Nice to see step by step on your build. That's the way my mind works. Tinkerer by nature. God Bless

Thanks for the videos! I have a 67 that I installed a 2.5" TBP lift on. The front rides just fine. The rear is horrible. I called TBP and they said to improve the ride in the rear, go to a softer shock. So I ordered pro comp rear shocks and it helped some. We drove it for a year and was just not happy. So I experimented by removing the 3 small leafs at the bottom of the pack. And it was night and day. A year and a half later... I have a lean to the driver side. So, I may either order a different set or re install 1 of the small leafs on that side. IDK!!! $$$$$$ 🦧🙄 Thanks for the Time yall put in!

@@JasonJonieBuilds after seeing your rear leaf's they are different than mine. You may be ok. Ours were crazy stiff. And the shocks were really stiff as well. Cant wait to see yalls finished. I wanna do mine the same way, body off! Its a U15 3speed column, 289. I replaced the D30 drum front axle for a 74 D44 and used all Ford brake parts from a big Bronco. Best thing I did.

Dawn is great but it washes out and you get squeaks, silicone grease is the proper lube. If you’re going to do it, do it right.

Did you check the end of your radius arms to see if they were level to try and avoid the “bronco lean”?
@JasonJonieBuilds
@JasonJonieBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
The radius arms seemed parallel when I installed them. I will check better when I can put weight on the chassis. Thanks for the question and watching. I will address it when we put wheels and tires on it.

The arms were fairly level when he installed them on the frame. You could see both arms inserted at the same time - no wrestling to get one or the other installed. Doubt he'll get the 'bronco lean'.

@@JasonJonieBuilds Is there some specification or measurement to have when you address the levelness when you put the wheels and tires on. Basically my question is what parameters and or tolerances do you need to have to avoid Bronco lean.Thank you.

Honestly, there are a lot of things that can contribute to the Bronco lean. I have seen new rear spring sets that didn't have the same arch even though they were purchased together. I had some lean on my Bronco because the Tom's 2.5 coil springs didn't fit in the lower mount correctly on one side. It had me about 1/2-3/4 high on the passenger side. I had to relieve the mount so the spring would set inside it. No problem after that. It will be hard to tell what you have until all the weight is on the Bronco (fully assembled). Good luck.

thanks for the video! is there a reason you use Dawn instead of a grease on the bushings?

You can use a silicone based grease. It is just messy. Thanks,

Jason, will the 2 1/2” lift give you clearance for the 33” tires you have or are you doing body lift as well? Thanks again for the videos and the time you out into it.
@JasonJonieBuilds
@JasonJonieBuilds 2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir. My Bronco is cut so we have all kinds of room. If you plan to have a LUBR it will probably need narrower tires or additional lift. Our tires are 33x12.5-15.
