In this video we install Tom's Bronco Parts Disc Brake Conversion Part# 7503 for a Dana 30. The kit had everything we needed to install power brakes on our 1966 Bronco except for the axle hard lines i.e.(the lines that cross the axle and combine at the flexible line to the master cylinder. The kit was an easy install but the instructions were a bit vague.

as always a great resource for upgrades, repairs and maintenance. Getting ready to take my dana 44 conversion apart to make sure it went together right! bought a project so it hasn't moved in 20 years, but the conversion was done before I got it!

"Seen this done before?" "No." "Wanna try?" "No..." Almost the exact same conversation my wife and I had, lol! All three of my daughters have had to service their own cars - including packing their own wheel bearings - this is the way I showed them too.

LOL, I need to get Presley and Madison more involved. Usually you hear them out playing in the background on the videos. I can't pull them away from their friends. Thanks for the phone call help yesterday!

ugha versus ugha duhga... totally understand. ;) lol Knowing when to stop torquing is very important to not causing excess frustration on any project. great to see a project done right. That Bronco is going to be sooooo clean.

Jason wrenches like my Italian mother cooks - a pinch of this, a dash of that. taste, tweak, move on. Love it, it's how I'm gonna do it.

Don't know how I missed this video....I've done industrial maintenance in my past and have used the "a scooch" when describing how to tighten fasteners....the young guys always look at me "are you serious?" .....they just don't get it. I have the TBP disc kit on mine as well. Inner pad gave me a hard way to go too. Love the team work and the family vibe. :)

Thanks David! Tightening is hard to describe when there are no torque specs. Breaking bolts off stretches one's vocabulary too. LOL

I learned to pack bearings helping a neighbor with his dirt track stock car. He showed me how to pack them by hand. He convinced me to do one side and he did the other. I also learned what a bearing packer was as I had grease slathered all over and he was nice and clean. Good lesson for me on both parts!

On other channels they go by German torque specs.....(good-n-tite). I personally use this unless it calls for specific torque specs. Springs is in the air, birds singing, snow melting almost gone here in Wisconsin. Have fun with your build and glad your making it safe and good-n- tite. God Bless

Thanks again Jack! Yes the weather is getting right for sure. German torque is correct LOL.

I like your torque technique, made me laugh. My son asked me many years ago and I tried to explain, it wasn't the easiest to put in words.

Thanks! It is a feel you learn once you have broken enough bolts off. A mechanics right of passage I guess.

Nice vid Jason, I went with a 77 f150 front brake set up for my 75 Bronco dana 44. All ford parts. A guy was selling parts off his 77 4x4.

Yea even on my 79 front axle I have same snap ring on axle. but it also has that ridiculous spring that applies pressure to hub lock, still searching for one, like finding unicorn, spring is almost here, time hit junk yards. nice install. I don't see why it would say leave that off, it's in service manual/ Nice work.

Hi Jason! My Dana 30 had a shim between the knuckle, and original spindle. The top portion of shim is thinner and the bottom portion of shim is thicker. I don’t see anywhere in the instructions or any videos (nor in this video around min 4) for disc conversion that that shim is needed on this conversion. Can you confirm? Thanks!!

I am not exactly sure what shim you are talking about. Can you send a picture of it? Jasonandjoniebuilds@gmail.com

I know putting Chevy on a Ford is sacrilege but the kit made it easy to just order all the parts I needed at one time. It should work great and stop like it is supposed too. Thanks for watching!
