Ich spielte dieses Stück mir liebster Musik auch, als Tastendrücker, zusammen mit Laiencellisten. Es war für uns Erfüllung pur. Was die beiden Männer hier hinlegen, das ist obergenial, ist Brahms pur. Danke!

The style of playing is absolutely Brahms. Excellent understanding of the motifs of the composer. (Hornung even looks like the young Brahms ;--)

uh no? the piece is the Brahms cello sonata in e minor. although it’s a sonata it’s mainly part of the cello performance repertoire

Oh my goodness, no. You should try. It is NEVER too late to try a new instrument. One of our local violin teachers gives a FREE introductory lesson to anyone who wants, once a year. In a class session. Fantastic. Maybe you can find something like that in your city. Best of luck. 🇨🇦

I am 61 and picked up the cello 11 years ago and I was able to have my own concert last year! You should try!! I am learning this exact piece and it’s not easy but I am enjoying it!😊 You can do it!!

Brahm' chamber music is all very good,. Listen to his piano quintet.and his clarinet quintet. Very different pieces, both great.
