Interesting putty recipe. The window glazing compound says not to use for stained glass projects? But obviously you can if the thinner is added? Another Great video.

Yes you can! We’ve been using it for years. Thanks for watching.

This was a great great video Ed. I’ve always used a “potato” brush. It’s about 4” long may a 1-1/4 wide and has the yellowish bristles. My question is since your doing the dark gray glazing do you not using whiting to remove the rest of the glazing? The only reason I ask is that it’s the way I was trained. My fear of using whiting is that it will spoil the beautiful gray glazing color you worked so hard to achieve. Maybe it’s the combination of the different brushes that removes the excess residue. By the way, I loved the way you installed the replacement pane. I’m amazed too that the lacquer thinner doesn’t attack the plastic of your coffee container. Thank you Ed!

We do not add the whiting.

Hi Ed, I purchased and used your putty recipe recently and received a great review from my client. My only suggestion is that you add 'let it sit overnight' to your instructions. I am very pleased with the results and will be using it on other projects.

Yes indeed. We changed the recipe and added that note. So glad your customer is happy! Also, here is a blog post with some handy info. www.conwayglass.com/blog

Thank you. As usual, super helpful video. Quick question, is there any reason for you preferring to use paint instead of lamp black to darken the putty? Do you find it gives you more control of how dark it gets (i.e., easier to colour match)?

Black paint was in the original recipe. Thanks for the suggestion though and thanks for watching!

Awesome video guys... !💚 Ed at 14:12 in the video towards the end where you're working with the glass and wood frame, what is that material you are installing between the frame edges and the wood frame? Is that a rubberized molding?
@ARTyRV Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, that is the trim mold that came with the cabinet doors. It just fits right in and holds the glass snug. Cabinets doors with all different trim molds. This one is exceptional.

What was that stop you put in there after you put the window back in the frame? what is an acid brush?
