Context: KMT had a great lobbying effort in US, which brought more trade and specialists from US, which resulted in thousands of american casualties when ROC was attacked which resulted in demand to stop japanese aggression. I think it would make more sense that Republican Spain declared war on Germany during the invasion of Poland together with France and Britain because I think that the battle and occupation of France would pose a direct threat to Republican Spain, especially since the Germans helped the nationalists during the civil war.

It’s not that difficult of a scenario, you just have to find a way to deal with the transport of the Army of Africa to mainland Spain. Either have France and Britain be more proactive with the nonintervention comitee, have France not block the material aid bought by republican sympathizers, or have the much larger Republican navy be much more willing to engage the nationalist naval transports at the very least.

What if at the start of the Siberian intervention, Japan finds Alexei Romanov and makes him a puppet ruler of Siberia to justify their ongoing “intervention”? Yes Alexei Romanov is assassinated in July and the intervention starts in August, so either move the intervention forward a couple of months, or have the Czechoslovak Legion rescue Alexei and bring him to the Japanese. Either way, Japan should remain in Siberia after October 1922, with enough legitimacy so that America doesn't embargo Japan or force Japan's withdrawal, & Japan can pay for the “intervention” with Siberian gold/iron/gems/fur. Or, alternatively, one of his sisters, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, or Anastasia, survives and is married into the Japanese royal family giving Japan a claim over all of Russia.

@@KodeeDentares Yes and no. It works like that at least in most cases. but I just tried to give a closer look to phonetic english. Take as an example this word: Shelter. In phonetic theory you might write: Šelter. It will sound pretty much the same. But I doubt it will be the same in cases like Ď, Ť, Ň, Ř. It's more complicated here.

Serbia really didn't want war. At least not the government as a whole (one faction inside the government really did want it, but they were the minority). The Serbian secret service even warned Austria-Hungary prior to Franz Ferdinand's visit to Sarajevo that something was up. The austrian-hungarian police just didn't listen to them.

Austria-Hungary, or at least the Austrian half, was much kinder to the minorities than you portrayed. Franz Joseph oftentimes sided with the minorities of the Empire, to safeguard the stability of his Empire. The Austrian Half had a parliament were all minorities were represented, even though it was pretty dysfunctional. There was an Austro-Hungarian national identity and most peoples did at least in some part feel like a part of the wider Empire.

Posting again to get it seen Possible interesting alt history, but what if Thailand(Siam) was given better concessions after assisting the entante during WW1. Specifically the return of its taken territory before and during the Bowring treaties with France and the United Kingdom. Along with the freedom from taxation and colonization that was historically given. This would possibly have prevented the bloodless revolution in 1933 as the vast rice fields and agricultural areas in Cambodia and Laos would not have been lost, as well as the added coastline of its Vietnamese territory remaining. This would have vastly improved its economy which was highly agricultural at the time and prevented the Great Depression from ravaging the country as much which is what led to the bloodless rebellion. All this may have improved relations with the allies since the population would not have had near as much resentment towards the British or French. This also would have mantained Thailand as a major agricultural power in South Asia which along with British Malaysia, would have had more interaction with the British. With the trade relations and regained territory, the Siamese government would peruse closer ties with its largest trade partners in China and Malaysia, but now with the addition of the British. This could have possibly prevented the Japanese from going through with their “invasion” of Siam on Dec 8th 1941 due to the British and Siamese governments having closer ties. If the invasion did happen as it did historically, Siam would join on the side of the allies against Japan and actually fought back. I feel it would be possible since the monarchy had historically been very back and forth with most European countries but had very close ties with them during WW1, if those ties never waned then it’s very possible this could’ve happened. It might just be very hard to make happen in the game.

Best coverage of that idea I'm seen is Harry Turtledove's American Front books, though I do recommend reading the prequel How Few Remain as it's one Turtledove's better books. Overarching: 1917 French Desertions lead to a collapse of the lines because they knew no more (American) reinforcements were coming. But what happens in America... is a tale worth reading
