Aura Vale Lake
We still consider ourselves beginners to the world of stand up paddle board. In this channel we will share with you our experiences as we learn all about paddle boarding, where to go, plus all the tips and tricks...and the mistakes we make along the way.
In this video we paddle board on Aura Vale Lake, located north of Cardinia Reservoir.
Over the past years Aura Vale Lake Park has become a popular venue for boating activities including sailboarding and canoeing and for other small non-powered boats up to 3.3 metres. Swimming is not permitted due to poor water quality and submerged objects. We understand there are some granite boulders under the water near Henley’s Picnic area. The floor of the lake is muddy and the water is cloudy.
Amenities: Boat ramps, taps, picnic tables, car parking and public toilets. Shade available.
Getting there: Aura Vale Lake is approximately 45 minutes and 49km from Melbourne CBD, via the Monash Freeway, exit at Wellington Road. Look for the left turn after the rise over the water (with Cardinia Reservoir on your right).
Hours: The park is open 10:00am to 6:00pm during daylight saving time.
