@@tacticaladvance Well, you found a certain niche with your style of ship reviews and people probably just tune in for those. However, as CIG roles out fewer and fewer new ships before launch, you'll definitely need to expand your repertoire. The main thing is to create content that you enjoy and it'll shine through to your subscribers. I'm not going anywhere anyway. ;)

I really love the old ship review style and it's nice that TA is branching out his content, but this format didn't really work for me. It felt like a clumsy rehash of the sparse details already available on the RSI site. The footage of the greybox model was nice, but combining the whole history of the company and just one of it's ships in a video seems an odd choice. That said, Carrack hype is real, but I wish TA had just waited for the full release in 3.x.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I liked having the lore, a ship and the job description all in the one video. I found the desciption on how exploration will be a career the most helpful. It's something i'd be doing in the game but never was quite certain on how to get paid out of it. Makes sense now so thanks for the work put into this video.

@Tactical Advance - Correction/Amendment - Time 5:44 "The price when it came out Originally was 400 Dollars" is incorrect. It was 350 and limited. It later was released again for purchase during a holiday sale or anniversary sale with a video explaining the upgrades and changes over time with the new value increase at 400USD. You can still get it for its original concept price via a concierge combo package of other ships with LTI. *Hint hint* (Discussing such packages to the masses tho, might have RSI change this golden Easter egg) // P.S. 7:06 "Ursa Rover" should be Lynx rover :) Controversial, ATM.

I have to point out that the original price was actually 350 (+VAT where applicable). It got a price hike during 2017 anniversary sale to 400 when it grow to ~160m. Then in 2018 anniversary sale it got cut down to 125m again but the price was kept at 400.

It should be a crime to charge VAT on a capital-raising promissory note....Which is essentially what the concept "sales" were when people were first paying into Star Citizen years ago with nothing but hopes & dreams that their RSI investment would maybe pay off, against the risks of the company running out of money and folding or selling out long before any real Star Citizen game was ever actually realized

Another interesting lore tidbit about the Carrack is that most of the UEE Navy's Carracks were actually sublet to the ICC and were crewed by mixed crews of both ICC and UEEN personnel.

I have an XLR AT2020 in a soundbooth routing thru an Mtrack. I'm currently recording audiobooks with it. I'd like to know HOW he has his setup because his db level is great with no distortions. Obviously he has something better than an AT2020

I am ready to jump into a "large" class ship soon and trying to make up my mind between the reclaimer, the carrack, the hull D and others. got any suggestions? The thing that worries me about buying any of the large ships is that the gameplay loops are not realized yet, exploration for example would mean that they need their 100 systems (currently at 1) and the salvage mechanics seem to be a long ways away too.

@@StreetWorksMedia -- I think the hull-d will be way to bulky and slow to feel fun. It's been a long time since I last was in universe, but when there the big friegtors overwhelmingly just got used as giant warehouses never leaving port. Buying up all the commodities in hours when prices were low, and then selling them off when prices were high at the same port. The biggest ship I enjoyed taking out at least once every day was the Constellation. The bigger cargo ships were just warehouses and novelties to take out once a month

@@nogitsune4452 They are creating technology that can procedually generate entire planet. Imagine just how big cities are, there is so much to explore in just one city. And rest of the planet. And under ground and under seas. It will take ages to explore everything in one planet, and if sometimes some planet is fully explored, they can use procedural creation to add something new to that planet in next patch. And space, space is so much large, it is enormous. Of course it can have lot of empty stuff, but it also means there is so much empty room for new stuff to be proceduraly created. Asteroid clusters can be massive and can hide massive asteroids inside them, and those asteroids can have massive amount of stuff inside them. And they might be constantly moving, hitting each other and either forming new asteroids or breaking them apart for plenty of new ones. Add all the real and scifi space effects and phenomenons, combine that with some procedural creation and don't forget developers who hand craft much of it into it's final form, possibly at very rapid pace depending how good their tools and procedural creation are. And remember that since jump points will change all the time, you might need to rediscover everything that somebody else already found. So if you want to take a look at something amazing, you might first need to find path there. So it could take really long time before you visited every interesting place that somebody else has been before. Its not like you need to watch all KZbin videos about everything. If you don't, but even if you do, there will still be so much stuff to explore. So i am confident we don't run out of things to explore. Only question is how interesting stuff can procedural creation make. How quickly can they add something that actually is interesting? Combining hand crafting with procedural creation, it could be that they can add interesting stuff very quickly.

I'm sure CIG isn't going to release the game with every solar system and point of interest finished. They will spend years pushing out new content with patch after patch, so I'm sure there will be plenty for everyone to discover eventually.

Some of the systems are absolutely massive. Stanton is only 5 AU across. It's one of the smallest systems planned to be in the game. You have some systems planned at 130+ AU. That'll take a long while to map, and who knows what'll constantly change.

With jump points that are able to come & go, they could easily create a game-system that brings in new solar systems or cuts off known ones and either expand if they want, or maintain the 200 level if they want.

Carrack is the explorer ship, the dedicated explorer ship in the game. Carrack is easily superior for exploration in every way. Might even be cheaper as its not luxury ship. Altough i would love like to have video that compares the 2, what they do differently and what they have in common.

@@drefar4140 Atm there is no real exploration, that is yet to be added. There is no short answer and we don't really know much yet, so i can't say for certain much. There are plenty of videos or threads about it, i suggest you watch/read them. So short answer: its not done yet so we don't know how it actually will work in practice. Longer answer that only covers few things: But remember that Star Citizen is not all about flying ships in empty space, Elite Dangerous is more about that. Star Citizen is supposed to have real breathing universe where space ships are only one part of it. So what player can do is build a base (possibly player designed base so every base could be different) in a cool place. That base could be destroyed by an asteroid or pirate attack. Perhaps asteroids could then form around that empty space, and eventually form together into one massive asteroid. So you could discover player made base inside an asteroid. And since jump points change all the time, if there are 100 cool places in the galaxy, it takes a while for you to go through all of them. Finding completely new stuff that nobody has ever seen or touched before is not as common as Elite Dangerous, and finding completely new systems is apparently going to be extremely rare. Something everyone dreams about, but few can actually find, just like real life. But what you do find should be a lot more interesting (depending ofc on your preferences, some just like Elite Dangerous more).

it might release in a limited capacity but the 100 systems they promised is not going to happen on launch, which is why i'm seriously considering to not buy any exporation ships like the endeavor or the carrack. i think that cargo or mining ships wil be more profitable in the early game due to the loops being established and more thought put into them.

You guys who are holding onto the idea that this game is ever going to be released are really cute. This is the only ship in the game that makes any sense though, I sold everything and got a FULL refund 2yrs ago, but this was always my favorite ship "concept". It's just too bad they are just getting rich on an idea and they just keep feeding the fanboys just enough HOPE that they will someday release the game that people keep giving them money. It's kinda sad really.....
