I remember concept art shows the front two guns on the ship retracted. Personally, I'd rather have the guns further back so they're tucked in and look sleeker, but that's just me.

All I could think of with that center bit in the gunner seat is "Stay on target" This is definitely a ship I would love to pilot while in a war convoy. Two of these ships working in tandem would be a beautiful (albeit scary if on the reciving end) sight.

3:00 maybe its when you power-off weapons with 7 (if having the advanced keyboard layout loaded). You know, the normal number keys, 3 toggles lights, 4 engines, 5 power, etc. Because i noticed on my Eclipse, if i power-off weapons the torpedo bay doors and guns fold up into the hull. So maybe in this ship, the weapons slide back to show you're "holstered".

As a mobile ground turret, it would work if you could hook it up to a stationary shield booster or ground-based shield generators become a thing

I think the solution is similar to what we see in tank turrets in war thunder. 1:1 but the turret will have to "catch up" if moved too fast. It's insane how they haven't got a simple mechanic right after all this time. games like battlefield have done it right for years. A little concerning for me imo.

You should try the Vanguard turrets, they are very good, i mean it's not perfect yet but it's a big improvement over all previous turrets

And still not where we want them to be. I'm a backer but it really does feel CIG miss the mark when it comes to gameplay mechanics way too often.

I had one LTI - but I ccued to a single seat fighter. A lot of potential but it comes prenurfed - and anyone who has shot at it knows it explodes instantly

Would indeed be awesome as a mobile turret for base defence. But imagine all those 4 turret guns being disruptors...... Two or three hurricanes with full disruptor loadouts attacking a hammerhead fitted with energy weapons.... I honestly think the hurricanes might win based on pure attrition. So many options, not just glass cannon DPS role, also huge support role potential here.

When you were in the pilot seat how did you get your ship status and target lock information on your helmet HUD? Or is that the ship?

To me, this seems like it's inspired by the baulton paul defiant which was a ww2 fighter that had a turret with 4 machine guns as main armament. It had a wide feild of fire and I believe it was designed to destroy bombers. Hopefully, it won't be as much of a failure as the baulton paul defiant as it was known for being a very unsuccessful plane and was outdated as soon as it was put into production.

IMO, the gunner turret should just shoot in the direction the pilot is aiming at if there's no gunner. Still have the firepower, just not the versatility.

This thing wrecks in the PU at the moment... Going up against one is not fun, but the same could be said for any dedicated fighter. Would definitely be my ship of choice to place on my Idris :P

Ship is neat, but i really think turrets on small fighters is pointless. The only way it makes sense is, like you suggested, using it for 'mobile defense' of stationary targets, but even with that i think theirs better options. The 2nd spot would be better used for an REO type of of position, managing the ships systems and such. I just dont see the point in putting a turret on a ship thats designed to be highly maneuverable. Bombers that need to keep a straight line for a run? Yeah. Larger less maneuverable ships? yeah. Smaller nimble fighters? no.

Small size turrets yes, I kinda agree. But the ones on this ship I think could be effectively used against bigger ships like corvette or frigate class, effectively becoming mini-gunships. With their size 7 turrets, a bunch of these would become more devastating than a single Hammerhead while also being way more nimble and unpredictable.

How does this fighter compare to the super hornet?

SH has a min crew of 1 where hurricane is 2.raw firepower goes to the hurricane unless its turret isnt occupied. SH is slower SCM speeds but faster with afterburner. hurricane is more nimble but only by a small margin. SH has more solid armor than the hurricane. Overall it is a somewhat level comparison that boils down to what your looking for in a ship. also worth noting is the hurricane was explained to be something like an interceptor of sorts, not ment to stick in extended dogfights where that was what the SH was ment for.

Such a beautiful ship, the closest any ship in any scifi has come to my ideal scifi fighter visual, only loses points for most of the firepower being on the gunner. (Also needs a 2d radar display for the pilot, the 3d radars are absolute crap)

It's funny the javelins in antem control like how SC ship should in atmosphere. But the ships in SC control like how a javelin/Ironman suit does in atmosphere. Stopping on a dime and rotating like a turret.

Clearly no one in the design teams looks at now military technology and aircraft systems work, if you want a turret mount a camera and remote control it via a display or head set, why? because all that room below the guns would fit a shit-ton of ammunition...

Lasse Helweg I agree that games should all be 100% about fun, but they seem to miss all the extra dynamics that comes from a well thought out system and have what seems to be a need to reinvent the wheel for all things. The alien ships are much better designed as they can be are free from human concepts thus much more thought has gone into them.
