Know you did this quite a while ago, but if you noticed by now their are 10 seats in the dining hall for them to eat before or after the meeting at the board room table, which also seats ten. Same here. It's a beautiful ship, but too cold. CIG needs a few in-between ships that have clean, comfortable staterooms for everyone on board that aren't overly posh and frou-frou nor overly brutalist and militaristic.

These sort of functional involvements would truely bring the in-game living spaces to life.

It’s cool but not very immersive or realistic if you’re watching current TV shows in a futuristic sci-fi games the best thing to do in my opinion would be if CIG did what Rockstar did an create in game shows set in the games universe, it would be costly and time consuming but would definitely add to the immersion

I've only been on one cruise ship, and the captain had a table he shared with VIPs. So, that huge table might be both a meeting table when the dining room is closed, and a captains table when the dining room is open.

You can actually climb out of the "pit" under the forward elevator, I was a bit surprised to see it working but you just go up to the edge and hit space and your character pulls himself up.

They have brought ship design to a whole new level with the 890. There are some issues I have with it here and there but overall it's a huge improvement over the 600i. It makes me excited to see other large ships in the future. Great review as usual btw. This is probably the longest ship review out there lol. :p

at TA ... thanks for doing tghese walkthrough videos for so long. I remember back at the start you would show so much detail to ships like the Hornet and 300 Series ... where there wasn't a whole lot but you showed the detail going into the ships; the thrusters; the wiring and conduits on versions of the Cutlass and Freelancer. Then you were blown away by the sheer size of the Constellation when it was first added to the hangar. I think you walked around that ship just commenting on the size 2-3 times. The Connie obviously tiny compared to the 890J. But here you are nearly 10 years later continuing to provide walkthroughs (and again to the biggest player accessible ship in-game). I got to tool around the 890J this week at the end of IAE during the very short free fly for a short while. Unfortunately CiG has become stingy with the free-flys; this one being during the week - when people are working and have other responsibilities and only for 48 hours. So I mnanaged to get through only the upper half of this ship. Never made it to the basketball court. In any regard - your videos have always been a good resource for insight into the ships CiG releases. Thanks. Looking forward to the Javelin walkthrough.

I think the side-doors left and right are actually how the passengers will come on board when the ship is docked at a station or whatever - as i assume when the game will be 'finished' this type of ship will not necessarily take off always from a planet but will dock at a spacestation floating above a planet and then small shuttles will bring the passengers down to the surface. The cargo bay door will obviously only be used for cargo or vehicles and the 2-man-elevator in the back might be only for the owner or some crew members. I think the VIPs will almost never ever get to see the underside of this ship.

@@Beau74 I mean Star Citizen isn't a complete game for sure, but it still has gameplay. I'd consider the fact they can have a ship of this scale in a playable space to traverse and explore, in of itself is fairly impressive. If you can do better, please do so. I think we'd all love to see what kind of game you'd create. A living (beta)economy that is fed through Mining, Cargo Hauling, Bounty hunting and a fair number of mission givers. I think it might not be a gameplay loop as large as we'll want for the final product, but saying star citizen in (still)such an early stage of development has no gameplay loop is just being ignorant of how much effort the developers have put into this game. ;) also I suck at grammar, thnx

What I really want to know is, what is the end goal with SC?! The amount of work involved, such thorough design and crazy detail. Crew quarters for players to go to work in the game for other rich players?! The vastness of what it will eventually be, once it's all filled out. What is it for!!?? Its mind blowing 🤯 😂 Maybe they're building the matrix space edition. Or my theory is it'll be the universe for all the different metaverses on different planets and space stations. 🤯

it looks to be roughly the same size as an anaconda from elite dangerous, elite dose not have the ability to walk around like this, but seeing a ship that is basically the same size as the anaconda gives you a real sense of scale to how fucking big the ships in elite are. fantastic vid btw

i hope we get a Crew area like that in the Carrack too. Of coarse a bit shrunken and lesser luxurious in look but i mean the couch area and the small Quarters with room for one Bed and a bit room to stay beside it. I hate those mass crew sleeping areas where like the whole crew sleeps in bunks in one single room. In a ship like the carrack i feel for the psychological health of the crew there should be an retreat for each person which is only theirs. Also on many other ships there is only the mess hall with that eating table for the crew to recreate which is not enough i think. A couch Area for example like that on the 890J is much more important than a pool table. Or preferably give them both. But well on the 890J they have solved everything just fine. The Crew has a decent space. The Guests have Luxury and wouldn't see something of the crew without explicit searching for them. And that Hangar well i love that hangar. Its on Top so i imagine the Ship being able to land on Water like a real Yacht and being supplied by an little ship like an Avenger Titan or 300i which can transport people and Cargo to and from the ship even when the vehicle bay is submerged. Well with the hangar of the Carrack i am also still skeptical. A snub if it is a one seater is just useless with a ship like the Carrack. For it the Pisces should at least have similar abilities like an Avenger Titan. Being able to do what the Carrack herself and her Drones can't which would probably be mainly bringing Cargo and groups of persons to or from and landing place too small for the carrack. Since scanning and taking samples could be performed by the Drones. So it needs space for Cargo and passengers. If it will be just a science Merlin i will be upset i think. Jea i really compare the 890 and the Carrack a lot since i like to have a somewhat bigger ship that is fetched out to be a home among the stars. The 890J is perfect for the Rolle it should fulfill but she is a bit too clean and beautiful for me to feel homy in it ^^ That is why i set really high hopes into the Carrack which even looks with its front a bit like the Serenity from firefly or the Bebop.

There are many ways to make toilets not at all uncomfortable to outside world. Sound proof is one thing, another is that you could have really good air suction in toilets and little bit higher air pressure outside the toilet, so when toilet door is opened air goes into the toilet, so air aka smell cant get out of there. Very simple for a luxury star ship to do.

It looks like it can hold 10 passengers and 8 crew that makes for some problems with the design 1) there are not enough crew quarters from all the people needed to run the ship, you would need ships operations crew and then the hospitality side so at a min 20 crew could be down to 12 to 15 if some did more then one job but there are only 8 crew cabins 2)the bar looks like it call hold 50 people with room to walk around although that could be ok if it were used for partys but would feel empty if only just the passengers where using it 3)Same problem with the dining room that looks like it can seat 20 people

Ha! Had the same thought about the slippery bathtub floors. I think a texture swap on that inner area would be an "easy" change, to convey some sort of high-friction surface. A handle or rail would be better. :) Falls into that design category of "yeah, it looks super sleek. But would it actually do a good job of what it's meant to do?" Enjoyed your tour of the vessel as always.

The railless stairs in the atrium would never get through inspection. Like thats a very obvious safety issue, especially in a moving vehicle.

@@2MeterLP But what if the stairs feature Origin's patented "Physlock Micro Gravity Panels" that "gently" constrain users to the walking area of the stairs and serve as an invisible wall if you get to close to the edge? I mean, if they're willing to write the sci-fi fluff and put it in the ship's user manual somewhere I'd give them the "E" for Effort on some of this. All I require is a humorous failure mode of some kind if the magic future tech gets damaged. Like...the stairs actively throwing passengers off the edge instead of protecting them. :P

It's not a military ship, and not really designed to travel that far away from civilisation or security forces. People will of course, but having engineering in one location makes sense in this kind of ship. It's the "battle bridge" that seems out of place to me.

i am impressed with its size and i'm all-in as far as the aesthetics are concerned, but many sections of the layout need to be revisited and remapped to better utilize the space, with the bow in particular seeming to be a be under utilized. none of the suites promote a sense of comfort; purely style without substance. this functions as a proof of concept but should see further interations in design.

Imagine the "Bridge" is just for show so the owner can show off to guest and they can pretend they are running the show, while the crew downstair actually runs the ship and make sure nothing blows up when people are sipping champagne upstair.

I don't think this ship is going to be used like a public space, so doors aren't needed. I imagine the only people on the ship will be the crew, the passengers, and their guests. For a cruise liner, it would be interesting to see what the devs do with the Genesis. I'm guessing it will have economy, business, and first class sections.

There are things on the floor, but watching TA run around some times spinning in circles showing things off its hard to tell which direction hes running in. In the smaller ships it didn't matter too much as there was not a real way to get lost, on these larger ships and soon station its going to be easy in a show off vid

I know, right. But these people will be more likely to get food poisoning than really hurt. Carrack owners, if they are really exploring, will be getting hurt (or killed) as often as Red Shirts in Star Trek.

Makes sense, the Carrack is a military ship designed to explore the unknown, behind enemy lines and far away from friendly civilisation indefinitely. This is a private yacht designed to stick around civilised space and avoid combat, transporting vip's to their next high profile party

@@MrEsphoenix Well, in this ship, you're dealing with VIPs, and if more than one person gets sick, you're not going to get a good rating.

@@jamesp7987 The moment the first person gets sick or injured you should be either calling for help or heading to the nearest medical services. The med bay should be for treating minor ailments or stabilising someone in case of an accident whilst help arrives. If more than one person gets injured and there's no help close then reviews go out the window, you fucked up and are in deep shit. Keep in mind most real life yachts have a medical kit and someone trained in first aid. The fact you have the equivalent of a full emergency room for one person seems generous enough. They're about luxury, meaning the more room you take up with medical facilities, which shouldn't be needed, the less room for luxuries. It also makes dedicated medical ships a bit obsolete if every ship with more than 5 crew gets its own extensive medical facilities.

When you come out of the Spa-area right in front of you there is a big dark panel. Turn on the flashlight and you will see that it is a panel with all sorts of chips and circuits. Looks really damn cool. Also at 57:15 that thing on the shelf looks a bit like broken nazi symbol hah

I don't think there's anywhere to store anything because it's meant to be a super yacht, basically a ferry for rich and famous people. All of their important things will be on some planet in a vault somewhere. They probably only wear fancy clothes once and then blow them out the airlock.

Good video and very interesting to look inside a luxury space ship. Have to admit that your ‘Englishness’ is funny as f**k when it comes to unisex and modesty. Even though I’m English, I have been exposed to cultures where nudity isn’t considered a taboo and sharing saunas, showers and bathrooms with the opposite sex is nothing unusual. It took a bit of getting used to but became second nature after a while. So, centuries into the future, male and female sharing amenities may be as normal as separate bathrooms is nowadays. That being said, really liked your views on the ship.

That in real life would help keep the air fresh. It is not enough to make all your air that would be needed not even for one person but it makes the air cleaner work to hard and help it out with plants making enough air for one person for two hours each day. It needs more plants. Well maybe there mit be enough air for one person each day with all the plants but I could be wrong.
