The Vanguard Sentinel is a ship that’s designed to fight smart instead of taking enemies head on. The conversion features an AR cockpit, an external e-War pod, decoy missiles and a set of EMP charges. Vanguard Sentinels often provide necessary combat support for combined operations. A lone Sentinel assigned wild weasel tasks is frequently paired with Harbinger bombers and Warden escorts for large attack missions.

The toilet/showers make for great realism and immersion. I for one am a big fan of the additional details that go into these ships such as bathrooms, kitchen area, galleys etc. I'm sure a lot of other players feel the same.

my understanding is that the current EMP in the Sentinel is a stand-in for the eWAR pod and the EMP *charges* which are not implemented in game, as of yet.

Reason 27 I love Tac's ship reviews: I own a Vanguard and never noticed the quantum drive compartment in the back because I always close the rear airlock immediately.

That panel when looking up above the cockpit will be for the incoming annunciator panels. It will tell you information about your ship at a quick glance.

There is a leaked pick of it in 3.8 on discord, and a few years back they mentioned that they added empty panels on all ships for future gameplay so that a rework would not be needed.

yah you can currently swap out those nose guns if you go to Center Mass on Arc Corp and buy the different versions. They have the regular nose guns, double barrel rapid fire nose guns, ballistic nose guns [that come on the Harbinger I guess], and the Distortion guns that come standard on the Sentinal

I know SC already has a ton of functions that require keybindings, But always thought they should have basic remote ship functions from the mobi-glass. Like when your in the hangar, You use computer access / Retinal scan to bind your mobi-glass to ship function. Then say your on a hot drop mission confiscating goods and need to get out fast, you can remotely boot up your ship / Open main door access and spool engines. Granted all this would come at a risk, and also open things up to hijacking / hacking.

I've got to say it. This is without a doubt the sexiest ship we have in-game IMO. It also shows just how kickass having ship customization in-game will be. This is the first ship that has a unique colorway and not just a livery. A solid primary with an attractive secondary color. I just want to be able to customize my ship for my primary base. Basing on an Ice Moon? Paint it white/light grey and it's less likely to be noticed when powered down on the surface. You go to mining location is brown? Paint your prospector a dirty tan so it doesn't stand out as much. Will it really matter? No. At least probably not. But it brings so much more immersion to the world.

Looks good! The big cannon on the nose is one of the ones from Hurston that gets more powerful the longer you sustain fire. Though I have to assume any stock weapons on a ship can also be improved upon when it comes to dmg output. I wonder how players will make this ship suit the role best - does the powerplant overload if you have sustained energy fire while charging the EMP? ballistic weapons on the nose would help so they're independent of energy use, maybe use distortion cannons on the top turret if the EMP doesnt recharge fast enough for sustained combat?

I switched out the size 4/gimaballed Attrition for a fixed size 5 Attrition, and swapped the distortion cannons in the nose (which are currently bugged, so in my experience useless) for the size 2 laser repeaters which unifies my targeting pip. I overclock them all, which gets all 5 guns firing outrageously fast. I can lay on the trigger for around 3-4 second bursts before they overheat, but the cooler in the Sentinel is so good the cooldown time is negligible. The real bonus here is that the Attrition repeater increases in damage the hotter it gets, so the damage value ramps up VERY fast. The EMP can charge while firing and it doesn't really impact the burst>cooldown>repeat strategy too much, maybe shaves off a second or less in how long I can fire. The cooldown on the EMP after it fires though is fairly substantial, I haven't timed it yet but if I had to guess it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 seconds. The EMP doesn't work as intended though, maybe affecting 1-out-of-10 shots, so I don't use it. All in all, it's a fun set up. I doubt it's very competitive currently because running fixed or mixed lessens damage versus running auto gimbal, and the EMP doesn't work, but I would imagine that'll see some developer attention soon. I hope.

just like how the rear stabilizers don't do anything but take up space when you're landing off planet, the wings don't really serve a purpose in space because there's no thrusters on them. Same thing with the retaliator, I wonder if you'll be able to fly with them folded in at some point. All they do in space is make you a bigger target.

Like calli ben said, you can get them at Oli, at the moment. But the distortion guns don't work as intended due to latency issues, so you'd probably be better off with something else (I chose laser repeaters for mine), unless of course you're just after a light show, in which case you can't do better than those blue bois.

yeah the ship is slower than a smaller fighter but you need to keep in mind its a heavy fighter with more hp and if someone does come after you use the emp that will make them leave before it goes off or you knock them out

@@MoDMike1981 It currently has an insane hp pool, which will transfer over to thick armor once the armor system is in place. It also has 2 medium shields which will be pretty tough to punch through once shield holes are addressed. It'll be a tanky trickster once the Sentinel works as intended.

Yes all ships will have physicalized components, but not all of them will be accessible from the interior. Small fighters and such will have exterior access hatches and a small area for fps weapons and gear.

I wish I could have the exterior of the Warden but the interior of the Sentinel. I love the blue accent lighting, makes me think of The Expanse. I was tempted to turn my warden into a Sabre but I need a long range ship with a bed and something that looks nice. Also just remember the "EMP" is currently temporary. It won't stay like the Warlock's emp since this ship is an EWAR ship. Many streamers/youtubers don't know that.

Warden has different weapons loadout as default, but both can be similarly equipped. Both have similar nose gun restrictions. Must be Behring size 2 guns. CVSA, And other four letter acronymn guns. Gimbaled guns can be swapped out. Warden is faster, around 1100m/s, Sentinel(this ship) is 1035m/s or so, also has mostly distortion weapons intended to disable ships, not blow them up. Warden uses energy weapons, I think. Hoplite uses ballistics. Harbinger is intended to be a bomber. Those distortion guns are terrible against most enemies.

This is the best looking garbage fighter around. I really like this ship but I’ll likely end up melting it whenever they release another heavy fighter. The nose guns on this ship kill it it for me. They’re complete garbage and you’re stuck with them.

Just fyi that emp is a placeholder, it's not going to have an emp like the warlock and hawk. It's more than likely going to have emp like missiles, limpets, rockets, or mines. Since they are listed as EMP charges. Just saying this so people don't complain later after CIG changes its emp to the proper type.
