I was given a mission to go collect three crates from a wreck and they were the type that start counting down to destruction as soon as you pick them up. As they were widely scattered it would have been almost impossible to do it fast enough by hand and most other vehicles can only carry 2 crates so the mule was invaluable.

I bought two of these little fellas to get some CCU chains on the go! But in the mean time it's fun to zip around in them. Also, I like how you said it seems more like an Argo, but then immediately proceeded to use it as a drug mule. I think it suits Drake just fine. 😉

@@BeardofOz I’ve always said variants of the Pisces would be amazing, such a nice small zippy ship and it would be nice to see versions with a bed or one that fills the cargo area with large fuel tanks maybe some shelving units/locker for armor etc.

I got the mule mainly because it looks like a cute little vehicle (and sometimes that's a good enough reason for me ) but also because I think it could be useful for box delivery missions

The mule is great for doing 2 man bunker raids or cargo runs, 1 person to open doors and load crates, 1 person to run the mule

LTI doesn't mean faster ship claim time in-game. The way I understand LTI is it means that this vehicle has a life-time-insurance (usually 10 years) that is in effect AFTER the game finally is released in a ready for market state and when you then lose ships the insurance decide IF you can actually claim your lost ship.

What do we know about how non LTI ships will be impacted after game launch...will we have to pay for insurance in game with UEC? ..or will we have to hand over meat-space money? I'm just trying to understand how much value LTI tokens will give.

my understanding, might be wrong, ships will have to be insured but they start with a Free period, 6 months, 2 years 10 years, whatever the deal said when purchased and if lost in that period the stock ship is returned , not any upgraded components. after that if you pay ingame insurance UEC, then you get the reclaim ship timer similar to now. If you dont have in game insurance then it will be a far longer wait until the authorities "find" and return it to you, you wont lose a real money purchase ship with no insurance, but you might lose an in game UEC ship with no insurance. loved the video btw

@@steando8731 I'd hate to lose any components if a ship gets destroyed as they are quite expensive and tedious to buy them all again. If hope there will be insurance for these.

What I really want is a "flying" Drake Mule, equipped with a tractor beam, in order to do cargo management, in space. Once the Expanse comes out, there will be a lot of moving of ore containers from Prospector to Expanse ship, from Expanse ship to Cargo ship. Not to mention, once the next update improves containers and cargo interactions. Making more physical, as opposed to cargo being largely a black box right now, where you use interfaces, like the loading of refined ore, to get it into your ship. It is sort of like magic right now, but in the future, it will be work you will need to do yourself.

I just hope it gets a tractor beam. It could be a good off road tow truck for when fuel on ground vehicles is enabled. And it's a skid steer, we need the tractor beam for hard to access crates.

4:00 this indeed is something cig needs to tweak on all fronts and have a smart animate system that essentially gives you a organic activation system showing avatar reaching for buttons or chairs to sit or use them but you can pull away it should behave like a will magnet

It makes no sense to release the mule without the cargo carrying feature. As coop player I not only divide tasks and multicrew, so we would own lightly expensive ship for specific tasks. But lack of cargo transfert between player makes it complicated.

A character trade system is sorely needed, Ill agree. It IS bit of a bummer that I can't use the Mules full potential YET, but even then, its a fun little vehicle!

The muel is kinda stupid for cargo loading, but it might be the only tool you can use on a lp if multi tools are disabled there still. I would like the front deploy function to pick up stacks of boxes

You can't buy this in game yet as I discovered when visiting all the ship dealers kiosks. No in game purchases of the MULE until 3.18. Only pledge backers of this vehicle get to drive it now in the PU.

I can't get over how broken the steering is. With server latency, low speed maneuvers are impossible unless traveling forward, because it has a steering inverter that engages at the moment of transition from stationary to reverse. This theoretically emulates ackerman steering, but in practice, it causes turning in place to be extremely buggy with a joystick as the slightest touch of reverse input forces the mule to stop spinning one way and immediately spin the other way. Also while steering in reverse, stopping causes the steering to immediately invert as well. This makes it needlessly difficult to load. Someone at CIG should rent a modern skid steer for a day for a lesson in differential steering controls.

Can someone explain the ccu system and how insurance works in game and lti? Bought a cutlass black, came with 6 months insurance, after that how do I get more? Is lti worth going after? Haven’t started playing yet, so apologies if these are well known topics

Right, so when you go to the pledge store, you can choose ship upgrades. That will bring you to a page where you can buy ship conversions. In your example the cutlass black is worth $100, if you decided you don't like it all too much but you like the vanguard ships but don't want to spend the $120+ min for the upgrade or the weeks of grinding credits for it. You can upgrade to the legionnaire for $20 and since it's not in the game currently, you get a replacement of a vanguard hoplite until it is. Once you buy the upgrade you have to apply it to your shop and it will permanently turn the ship into what you upgraded to. If you don't like it, you can exchange the package back to store credits and buy your original ship. Now I am going to be clear, SC has three ship sales per year and each will have warbond upgrades in which you pay new money for a discount. Along with ships that usually get a price hike after and update is done to them or a feature is added to it. So let's say a concept ship becomes flyable, it's pricetag will usually increase.

As for insurance, its currently not a thing yet, but the idea is that it would cover the factory version of your ship and you would buy insurance on for non factory modules or upgrade the insurance package to cover those modules using UEC. The included insurance from the pledgestore ranges from 3 month, 6 month, 12 month, 120 month and LTI. After the time runs out you can extend the insurance buy paying UEC. So personally I believe LTI is pointless for most players since based on the FAQ for insurance, LTI covers only the factory version of the ship. So its purpose is for capital class ships since their modules aren't swappable. In my mind 10 years of insurance is more than enough. Though this can change based on how much insurance will end up costing since its meant to be a money sink for the economy.

depending on your budget and fleet you should not buy any item less than 200 dollars. they are to easy to get with an hours grind in game. if you have a tight budget you should not buy any ground vehicles. ground vehicles are only for people that have more money than sense

DRAKE dont compete with the other ship makers they fucking out compete them, like im sorry you can have those fancy white plated ships if you want, but drake makes ships that do a job, and do it well, and they are cheep....and fast, and usually covered in guns. sorry not sorry they are just the best ship line up.
