I gotta hand it to the 3DP staff in charge of the voice-acting. At a time when "WHAT is this?" And "NO. DOn't OPEN that door" and "You were almost a Jill SANDwhich" were the mockery of the gaming community, the 3DO staff recognized the untapped goldmine that was video game voice-acting. And they took means to ensure talented, competent VA's and proper voice synthesis (just listen to these guys, the Ur-Quans, and the Chenjesu/Chmmr for examples) modules were used. To this day, SC2's VA is good.

@Stretchypantsmaster The Druuge are totally beholden to the Crimson Corporation. If you play, you find out the exact extent of this... relationship, especially if you get one of the Druuge Maulers and discover how it recharges its batteries.

Their Mauler ships used to be fun in Super Melee. The recoil effect of the primary weapon was very usefull to beat the fast ships and escape from projectiles. We used to build Mauler-only armadas for 2 player death match...Early 90s, good times...

Me: (to the druuge) "No... We are not the same. We had our fear and our survival but we do not sell out our friends. We do not use our friends as decoys and let them die of a genocide frenzy. If our friends in trouble... We stood up with them even it means dead to the end with them. And that bomb is our purpose not just for me or just for my people's freedom but also for our survival... Not just for me or just for my people but also for them... For all of us... Just so we all have our rights for survival of this galaxy. "

@@okamijubei Technically, you do send the Illwrath to wipe out the Thraddash and gain access to the Chmmr. You also wipe out entire planet's ecosystems to acquire data for the Melnorme. If you befriend the Thraddash, you immediately backstab them and steal their most holy relic. And, despite our misgivings, we trade with the very people we despise, the Druuge.
