Policy in papers are good and attractive, when it comes to real life, they mostly reject claims and not useful at all. Especially those in old age should be careful while taking the policy, Star Health Policy rejection rate is on the higher side.

You are right. In their promises and papers it:s very good and attractive. But in real life it does not work. I myself and wife joined senior citizen health insurance scheme. All the documents requested by them are furnished. After 9 months my wife got ill and hospitalised. I informed star health and they acknowledged. But at the stage of bill payment they didn't pay. I contacted them and they said it is under process at their Madras office. Till 5 p.m I waited and hospital didn't get the payment and I had to pay myself to leave the hospital as I have to admit my wife to a spatiality hospital. There also I informed star heath and there also I had to pay myself. Afterwards my claim was rejected on the ground it was a pre-existing disease which is excluded in the policy. I decided to go to consumer court on the strong reason that the company would not able to prove it was a pre-existing disease which was known to me. By the way first hospital could not diagnose the disease and they named it something which was different from the specialty hospital's diagnose. I didn't go further since the amount was not much and court procedure may consume much time, money and energy. This is working in favor of Star Health's advantage, most of the people will let it go. But I believe that taking health insurance which was not materialized worked against me since hospitals increase tests and use costly medicines on the assumption that payment will be made by insurance company. So be aware of the real facts before taking health insurance on the rosy pictures presented by the agents of the company.

I'm sorry. പോളിസി എടുക്കാൻ നിലവിൽ കഴിയില്ല. Star Health ന്റെ തന്നെ Cardiac care പോലെ critical illness വന്നവർക്ക് അത് ഏത് critical illness ആണെങ്കിലും cover ചെയ്യുന്ന പോളിസി സമീപ ഭാവിയിൽ വന്നേക്കാം. ഇത് ഒരു pulmonary disease ആയതുകൊണ്ട് Cardiac care ലോ Cancer Care ലോ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്താൻ കഴിയില്ല.
