Great video, but I disagree with the final part. I believe that timer a sure would completely neg time stop. Here is how I see it: Once both their abilities activate, Diavolo would automatically be invincible to any outside attack for 10 seconds. Jotaro Actions would still happen, time stop would still technically occur, only with the downfall that Jotaro is unable to attack Diavolo because Diavolo isn’t attachable. We don’t actually know if there’s an image of him that appears during time stop or what it actually looks like if someone was able to perceive the skipped over time… But it doesn’t really matter since Diavolo wouldn’t be able to get hit anyway Besides that, I agree with everything else. He’s going to get washed by Jotaro

The biggest thing about King Crimson is that he cannot attack within skipped time and usually ends up killing via surprise attack after repositioning. While I think there are outcomes where he could donut Jotaro and win, a lot of the time, I could see Star Platinum react and move fast enough (or stop time if possible) to take out Diavolo.

Remember in Part 4 where Jotaro got hit in the back by Ratt's bullets? He can't react to things he doesn't expect. Unless we put him in a situation where he knows that Diavolo would attack him after time skip or Diavolo would try to give a short monologue, he will get donuted. That said, once he gets Donuted, he can counter with Star Platinum and go for a draw or fail to break King Cimson's defense. If Killer Queen is able to somewhat keep up with Crazy Diamond, I'm sure Diavolo would get knocked away at least and survive. If Jotaro time stops after he gets donuted however, Diavolo dies too.

after in Jojo,it all depends on the scenario,not really on the abilities,the disadvantage of King Crimson is indeed the fact that he can't attack in the time skip,even if this is contradicted several times in the anime and the manga(Diavolo who cuts Trish's hand in the time skip, Diavolo cutting off the seer's hand in the time skip,Diavolo impaling Narancia on bars in the time skip),but the advantage is that he can predict his enemy's actions and location and his enemy will be confused and won't be able to defend himself because of his sudden "teleportation", and even if the opponent expects the time skip, he would have to find a way to know when the time skip activates, he would have to have an uncommon reactivity and speed to deal with it and he would also have to be able to predict where Diavolo will attack (Silver Chariot was able to prevent Diavolo's attack only because of all his factors and because he attacked in a circle around him with an extremely high speed), but this same weakness of Diavolo's was countered with the use of his own blood to prevent his opponent from being able to see and thus have a reference point to know when the time skip is activated

@@epitaphcc1117 I think you're wrong when you say that Diavolo's attacks on Trish, the fortune teller and Narancia are contradicting his ability. And this is kind of funny that you're calling this a contradiction, given the name and profile picture of your account, because the explanation resides within the power of Epitaph. I agree that Diavolo can't interract with the world when time is erased because he's escaping his own fate during that time, but that is not the case of other people. Let's say Diavolo predicts with Epitaph that he will punch through someone he's fighting against, if he erases time at the moment he is supposed to attack he won't have to do it but his opponent will still be fated to have a hole in his chest no matter what. So by combining a lucky prediction of Epitaph and time skip, Diavolo can have a guaranteed, stealthy and secure attack on anyone. The downside is that he has to wait for this lucky prediction to happen outside of the cooldown period of his ability so in fight this isn't really practical. So in a case with a fight with Jotaro (or anyone in fact) if the writer wants Diavolo to win, this in another (though very boring) way to let him win.

Well yeah in part 4. But at the same time no, because in JoJo their isn’t really a power hierarchy as any stand could be used to kill any stand, it just depends on how you use it. The Oingo Boingo brothers with a little prep could beat DIO if they used their stands right and their environment to their advantage.

@@VincentVincent_89 actually, it's more about wordplay than what actually happens. If you find a character's ability bullshit, it's an asspull, not plot armor. Plot armor is the ability for a character to take damage, survive without explanation and be perfectly fine. The closest is p1 Dio, Dio was not perfectly fine after fighting Johnathan, he was missing his entire body. If you think Dio having a powerful ability is a plot armor then every enemy in JoJo has plot armor.

It would be cool to see KC predict jotaros movements in stopped time, but viewing them in real time, diavolo not realizing the vision takes place in stopped time and gets freaked out when jotaro is standing out of range one second and the next he immediately punches him in the face

Diavalo sees 10 seconds into the future so 10 seconds before he dies Diavalo would know and erase time. I think Jotaro wins but I think Diavalo also has some win conditions against Jotaro.

When it comes to Jojo, I don't tend to put much stock in power scaling as the fights are often more like chess games than the arm wrestling marches of something like Dragon Ball Z. That being said, I still agree that Jotaro has several advantages over Diavolo. Diavolo relies heavily on one shot kill ambushes, stealth, and defensive positions. I don't think he'd stand a chance in a brawl against Jotaro, and Jotaro's absurdly sharp senses and quick reflexes might see him coming. I also think Jotaro is simply more intelligent than Diavolo and a lot more realistic in his thinking as well. Diavolo's delusional mindset was a disadvantage against Giorno, and it would definitely be a disadvantage against Jotaro. DIO was pretty arrogant himself, but Diavolo's arrogance is far less justified. Jotaro could easily beat Diavolo on the mind game and trickery front. To have a chance at winning, Diavolo would need to get the drop on Jotaro completely unaware. He'd also need to know Jotaro's abilities in advance and properly prepare for them. Otherwise, I think seeing time stop in future with Epitaph would be very confusing for Diavolo and cause him to panic as he sometimes does.

Because if you were affected by the normal passage of time, you and your user would have no memory of the time you have just erased. Thus, I conclude that when Time Stops, you and your user are unaffected by this and instead perceive your own passage of time the same way jotaro and dio do when time stops. You're capable of moving around and realizing your surroundings. When Time Accelerates from the ability of Made In Heaven, the time you erase is accelerated as well. When Time winds back up from the ability of Killer Queen's Bites The Dust, your erased time at the moment of the wind up is rewound. As your Time Erase was rewound and forced you out of it, you have become subject to the cycle of Bites The Dust. However, fated events that have occurred to you will still not affect you if you erase them from time. both polnaref and bruno figured out how to exploit time skip in their first fight polnaref with the blood technique, which lead to him scratching diavolo bruno figured out on the stairs how to bait kc to time skip, buying himself time to escape as kc cant attack while time is skipped but bruno can still do what he is fated to do, which would be his plan to escape jotaro, being a joestar no less, would immediatly figure this out, and just bait diavolo to skip, wait for time to resume and immediatly stop time and rush diavolo into paste also kc has bad def, 1 punck from sp and it turns to dust

Scenario 3: Nah Diavolo wins this, you're overrating Jotaro's reaction, he couldn't react to whitesnake, nor to Made in heaven, and technically Diavolo can be so close to Jotaro (about 0.00000000000001 cm that Jotaro's human mind won't be able to react to Diavolo, the human mind reaction is 0.25 sec, Diavolo will donut Jotaro way before he can react. Nothing really. If Diavolo gets a clean donut on Jotaro without SP protecting him from behind, Jotaro is dead. However, SP can counter attack just before he loses consciousness. He has a chance to draw but it seems unlikely since KC is already in front of Diavolo and he will protect himself from SP ora rushes. We already saw Killer Queen somewhat keep up with Crazy Diamond so Diavolo will get knocked away at least or die at most. If Jotaro saves time stop until after he got donuted, Diavolo is surely going down with him.

Plus you can't compare KQ and KC, since there's absolutely no scaling between them. Plus SP was able to donut DIO, so it's power should be able to demolish Diavolo. And my first point still stands, Jotaro has shown to be able to tank hits just as powerful as KC's.

Assuming Jotaro is durable due to tanking kicks from the World is wrong because it makes no sense and we have no reason to believe Jotaro could tank those on his own and that we know Star Platinum could still protect Jotaro underneath his clothes or still protect him despite being not shown to fully manifest or not perceivable by us. Even if he did tank the World's hits, what is the source of is superhuman durability then? Nothing, he is a plain human with stand powers. I'm saying that the World barrages were quick attacks that were somewhat block by SP and Jotaro's durability feat is overplayed. 2. I mention KQ vs CD fight because as one of the scenario goes, What if Diavolo was in range of SP after he donuted Jotaro? Would KC automatically lose (and die) to SP? Going by relative power scaling from part 4, it would probably be a no. Crazy Diamond and Star Platinum are similar in Speed but a bit slower. KQ and KC have average speed and lower power than SP/CD (KC power is A so I think it is higher than KQ but still lower that SP/CD). So going by this, KC would be able to block enough of SP's attacks to survive. I'm comparing CD vs KQ to SP vs KC on 1v1. I was not comparing KQ to KC.

@@JV-km9xk it's not assuming, at the beginning of the fight star platinum takes hits which transfered to jotaro, with minor injuries. Also even if SP was defending him during the kick barrage, Sp was still able to match the world, mainly during their barrages. KC has really no strength feats besides using stand stats, which get pretty funky and even if we use them jotaro still shows better durability. He's been slammed through a building, had a road roller slammed on him, and in part 4 where he got weaker in speed, strength, and TS time, he was able to go for a full barrage against kira, while having multiple holes in him, with kira even stating that SP was really fast. So fast he couldn't block a punch from him.

well, diavolo cant attack during time erase. polnareff proved you can react to diavolo as soon as he exits time erase, if you have enough speed and timing. with star platinums prescision, he most definitely can do that. moreovver, king crimson cannot see what happens during timestop just as star platinum cannot see into time erase. unfortunatley you cannot react to a timestop as star platinum can attack inside it. even if we were to give king crimson an advatage and say he can skip a timestop, hed be wasting his ability and they'd both have to fight during flowing time and due to scaling, star platinum would heavily outmatch king crimson in ever iteration whether it be prime, diu or stone ocean (parts 3,4 and 6 respectivley)

I want to point out that king crimson can’t technically attack in time erase but he can still damage the opponent: if king crimson uses epitaph and predicts him donuting the enemy, for example, and then erases time, during erased time, the opponent will get donuted by nothing without Diavolo having to attack because fate can’t be changed. This happens when he kills narancia and takes Trish in the elevator

Basically, it all depends on who uses their ability first. Personally, I think star platinum would win because I assume it takes less time to start a time stop than look into your hair for a couple of seconds and then erase time. Also, diavolo just has to hope that he kills jotaro in his epitaph prediction because, if he doesn’t, he won’t do any damage in erased time.

@@JWM45B but Diavolo can look at the future even in erased time, and the anime gives the impression that activating the erasure of time is faster than activating the stop time, besides does Diavolo really need to look at his hair to see the future? wouldn't the predictions that appear on his hair be just an artistic way of representing Diavolo's predictions to us, the viewers?because when Diavolo had a vision of Giorno piercing himself with the arrow, we just saw Epitaph appear on Diavolo's forehead and we did not see the vision appear on Diavolo's hair or when GER pierced Diavolo's hand, Diavolo said that he had predicted that his hand would be pierced, and yet he never looked at his hair, he only looked at GER

I think the biggest issue here for King Crimson, is that he can’t attack inside of a time skip. Even if he tried to pull what he did with Giorno, and blind him using his own blood. Dio literally did the exact same thing, and even if he timed a strike for the end of the skip, Jotaro’s reaction time is literally just too insane.

@@Aj-py8en Polnareff figured out how to see if time was skipped after a single encounter. Not only that, but Jotaro's reactions are proven to be quick enough to counter KC unless he truly didn't know KC was there. If he figures out how to see skipped time it's literally over for KC as the only advantage he has (being suprise) is now gone. If he can't catch Jotaro off guard he can freeze KC in place, and all KC can do is either skip away before the freeze or stay away entirely. Even epitaph reading the future for an attack to land on Jotaro wouldn't really work, because Jotaro's durability speed and power far outweigh KC. KC would never see a future in which any meaninful damage is done to Jotaro unless distracted by an outside source. The fact that almost every debate here is giving Diavolo the handicap of catching Jotaro off guard instead of just dropping them both face to face is proof enough that Jotaro would win.

I agree with your video. King Crimson could only win in a surprise attack, catching Jotaro off-guard and not reacting in a timely manner (such as when he was surprised by Whitesnake). In any different scenario, Star Platinum would win (it doesn't matter how much you can predict the future with Epitaph in this case, if SP activates timestop, Diavolo would only see his future self beaten-up in a ORA-rush with no chance of escape). If Diavolo activates timeskip to try and confuse Jotaro, he would probably preemptively activate timestop to search his surroundings (like when he did to try to find Pucci/Made in Heaven on Cape Canaveral).

Ok let’s get this straight once and for all. If diavolo erases time and during those ten seconds jotaro stopped time then time would indeed halt including Diavolo. jotaro would move and punch wherever diavolo is supposed to be according to fate then time would resume into the erased time which will proceed from where it was left off. We have only 2 facts to decide how this fight ends if we are talking about the abilities, talking about stand stats, Star Platinum is far superior than King Crimson. So going back to the abilities: the two facts are: the statement from part 6, in the manga Araki wrote a page between two chapters where it's stated that Star Platinum's time stop is the strongest stand abilty. Now since we know for sure that phisically SP is the best stand of all, and given the statement above, we could say that every stand from part 3 to part 6 can be beaten by Star Platinum, so by logic this includes King Crimson. Then we have the second fact, which is the only evidence we have of the interaction between the abilities, which is seen in Eyes Of Heaven. While the game isn't canon, the abilities in it are actually canon, and if you use Diavolo and time skip, if the enemy has Jotaro/Dio/Diego and stops time, it cancel your time skip, Blocking you where you are, making Star Platinum superior once again. Now using logic, time skip doesn't actually ereses time, it just makes people forget about what happened, making them do their fated actions while Diavolo can do otherwise; but if Jotaro stopped time between this ability, my guess would be that since Diavolo can't really avoid the activation of time stop, Time would stop normally and Diavolo would freeze. As for Jotaro view, he would basically experience a shorter time skip, and he would see Diavolo teleporting to another place. At this point, Jotaro destroys him. By literally every point of view Jotaro wins this fight, the only way for Diavolo to win would be a very precise, fast and unexpected time skip while Jotaro isn't alerted, or something perfectly planned for years, like Pucci did with White Snake. If you want to, i can also explain my take on GER vs SP, because i don't think GER would win and the majority of people would disagree with me, but it's kinda interesting.

One thing that no one seems to mention is that Polnereff is bloodied BEFORE Diavolo skips time during their fight. Then Diavolo skips time and polnereff comments on what happened before being demolished by King Crimson. So this implies that they were both fighting and King Crimson was significantly out classing Silver Chariot even without time erasure. If that is the case the King Crimson may actually be stronger than Star Platinum, or at least as strong. but only Araki knows...

One problem I have with the comments is how people are lowballing Diavolo's durability, since he tanked a full barrage from GER albeit severely damaged, still living. Even if stand stats aren't reliable, we know that GER has transcending power and other stats to all normal stands, although I would say that GER's AP isn't that much stronger than SP. One more thing, Polnareff was still able to pierce DIO before he could block which puts him at relative to Jotaro and not "massively slower", and yes this is relative since DIO states it was almost deadly to him. I do believe if there was more statements then Diavolo would win.

Diavalo's ability is to change his own fate. Others cannot change their fate, so if diavalo is about to attack, then erases time, the attack will carry out because of fate, and jotaro cannot react because time erase makes you practically unconscious

Ah but you see, Star Platinum can just react before, during or after the activation of an attack or ability as shown with the fight of The World on it's own accordance. Yes it was re acting against The World's time stop only for a few seconds, but come on, Jotaro has an insane amount of durability, more than immortal amped vampire. Even if KC wanted or is fated to punch through Jotaro, SP will be there, and let's say SP isn't there mid swing or touching, Jotaro would just take the hit. my biggest argument for star platinum winning: you can’t erase anything on a blank piece of paper, you cannot erase time when time is not passing. It depends who uses it first, however considering SP is arguably the fastest stand ever, with its reflex and experience Time Stop is coming out 8-9 times / outta ten. Here's how'd it go I think, but first; SP out stats everything KC does. He has higher Speed, Strength, Durability, and Range. This will also go with Time Skip skipping Time Stop. Plot Amor Win - Epitaph sees Jotaro die, and just wins immediately. Similar to how Narancia died. Time Skip activated first - Jotaro is either hit grievously, or blocks, then freezes time and counter attacks. Either it's a tie or Jotaro wins. Time Stop activated first - Jotaro instantly wins if Diavolo is in range, or leads to another result if he's too far. Prolonged Battle - Jotaro and Diavolo both manage to avoid serious blows, but Jotaro figures out how to tell when time is skipped, and wins. Time Stop doesn't have a weakness, but if someone figures out Time Skip, it can be planned around due to KC not being able to attack, while SP can attack within Time Stop. I.e. even Kakyoin died from 20 meters away, whilst even Bruno put up a fight against KC in a surprise attack.

The problem with Time Skip is that you can't directly interact with your opponent so in that erased time the opponent can't directly harm you but you also can't directly harm the opponent. That is why Diavolo never hits anyone during the Time Skip. In the small period of time between the end of the Time Skip and Diavolo landing his attack Star Platinum could react, catch and/or counter the attack. This combined with the "Time Stop works just fine during Time Skip", which was said in the video, make Time Skip not able to help Diavolo in this fight

@@DirtyBobBojangles Basically, timeskip doesn't change the result of any actions anybody takes during that time including Diavolo. It also erases all memories of the events since the events never happened, only the result. However, Diavolos movements during that time overwrite the position that Diavolo would have ended up in, allowing him to avoid attacks during the timeskip, and reposition where he pleases. Effectively, if Diavolo could achieve something without using his timeskip, timeskip allows him to skip to the result of that action without doing it himself. Diavolo could impale Narancia before anybody noticed and without using his timeskip, so when he saw that future he skipped that time, making it impossible for anybody else to know what happened. However, this doesn't work on Star Platinum because epitaph would never see a future in which KC is able to land a decisive blow because Star Platinum is too much stronger than KC. He cannot injure star platinum on his own without using timeskip, so that future would never appear for epitaph.

My coins are on Jotaro all the way. First off, Part 5 has a lot of crazy stands with wack powers, as it is the tendency ever since Stands were introduced. I know this is iffy, but you can't tell me a S strength in part 5 is the same as in part 3. The sheer difference in feats is just too big. Second, as it was mentioned, Star Platinum is a fast af boy, insanely strong and with precision. And Jotaro is pretty smart too, so I think it wouldn't take him much time to figure out Diavolo. Not the whole time skip mechanic, but at least how Diavolo attacks. Which brings me to Third point. KC can't attack during the time skip. Even if the ability can cancel SP during time stop, now what? Will Diavolo try and donut Jotaro? Like he always does?? Let's remember again whose Stand stopped a bulled at point-blank? Jotaro might get hurt, but it won't happen again. Maybe a second time. And then, after failing to one-shot Jotaro, Diavolo is within ORA ORA range. So here's how I think it would roll: Diavolo and Jotaro face each other, Diavolo makes some villainous speech from the shadows and time skips, going to blindside Jotaro. He also sees through Epitaph that Jotaro's stand is stronger and faster than anything he saw before, so he's dead set on getting the kill. Time Skip cuts back and KC punches a donut, or so he thought. It hit Jotaro but SP blocked most of the impact, and proceeds to hold KC/Diavolo in place, who's now in shock with how fast the enemy stand is. Jotaro gives a good look at Diavolo, and to quote the man himself, "yare yare daze, it won't take a second to finish you off..." _Proceeds to ORA ORA ORA_ The End

I think the problem with how people think the two abilities interact is that Star Platinum stops time /relativistically/-- that is, it moves so quickly that time is effectively zero for all other matter due to the theory of relativity (this is also why time stop is tied to gravity and thus fate, allowing heaven to be reached using that power-- time stop's speed creates a gravity well in spacetime, so the ability itself is already manipulating gravity). Diavolo's erased time just makes him an exception to any event fated to occur-- which means in his erased time he is also not subject to gravity, since in Jojo gravity and fate are linked concepts. SP time stop ability doesn't matter in erased time. Jotaro would still move faster than Diavolo could see, but he would be unable to touch him. However!! And this is key. You could be close enough to Jotaro to kiss him and Star Platinum would STILL outspeed-- we see this against Enya's zombies, Dio, Anubis, and Kira during the Sheer Heart Attack arc. It is impossible to blitz Jotaro without being faster than SP, unless you can attack him in a state where he can't attack you. Because Diavolo can only attack Jotaro during the normal flow of time, he would need to overcome SP's speed at close range. This is impossible. This battle ends with Diavolo trying to donut Jotaro from behind and being donutted faster than light.

So great video and two things people don't understand in a Star Platinum or The World vs. King Crimson (part 3 The World is a beatdown, DIO is a vampire with regen abilities and part 7 The World would still win given time stop) is that time stop DOES NOT happen in the flow of time. Araki states verbatim either through Dio, Jotaro or the literal stand stats he creates that time stop does not happen in the flow of real time but he uses an equivalent in real time (i.e. time stop for 5 seconds) so one can gauge how long the ability lasts. King Crimson CANNOT SEE IN TIME STOP and therefore any predictions made by Epitaph are meaningless cause he's at the mercy of Jotaro/DIO in time stop. Because of this, Epitaph would literally only see fated actions of Jotaro/DIO outside of time stop and in the flow of time which when both are serious (Jotaro & DIO for various reasons aren't always out for the kill in time stop) could one shot a person especially with Diavolo's average durability, let alone pissed Jotaro punching holes and cracking a vampire's skull in half. Also, as you said Star Platinum is vastly superior in physicals as it's depicted as the stand with the best precision, one of the best in speed and overall power especially when pissed. Because King Crimson does not allow Diavolo to attack during the fated actions that get erased in time but only allows him to position himself for the best way to land the finishing blow. Only problem is, time stop is instant and Jotaro & DIO have been shown in character to use time stop instantly and without going full shonen screaming their attack names. And due to Star Platinum's physicals and durability being much higher, even if Diavolo could position himself, he would at best catch Jotaro off guard yet still get countered by Star Platinum who can still protect Jotaro on command without Jotaro knowing as it has before. Like seriously only like the most busted stands (i.e. GER, MiH, Tusk Act 4, etc.) or most obscure stands (Notorious B.I.G., Sheer Heart Attack) are beating/outlasting The World & Time stop. And potentially perfect Kars too

My argument to that is prime star platinum and silver chariot being comparable in speed thereby part 4-6 jotaro easily gets stomped unless bloodlusted and immediately activates time stop. Now if your referring to part 4 star platinum being faster then part 3? That's obviously not the case whatsoever, jotaro mentioned that he and his stand was complete out of shape post part 3 so he is a bit lacking compared to his part 3 counterpart. And Diavolo's reaction time was also faster then bullets as shown in his fight against metallica; how he was able to evade Aerosmiths barrage of bullets. Despite being able to deflect rats bullets the following scene shows he can still be caught off guard as shown when rat deflects the bullet off a rock. Now as for Josuke, he did in fact block one of josuke's shots but again in the follow up scene he NARROWLY evades Josuke's second hit; even stating or implying that Jotaro would not have been able to evade the second hit without time stop, so essentially stating he would have been hit meaning he wouldn't be able to guard against that. In summary all of these points provide Jotaro can be caught off guard by bullet fire. Diavolo's faster then silver chariot who's as fast as part 3 star platinum who's faster then part 4 star platinum. Diavolo is also fast being able to react toward aerosmith's bullet fire with his time erase (a similar feat to jotaros one with rat.) My points show that if you want to Lowball diavolo's speed it'll be at part 3 star platinum level or silver chariot's. Star platinum part 3 being a light speed fighter is way way faster then Josuke's top speed; and if king crimson scales to that level with his feat on chariot then it's unreasonable to think that king crimson can't catch jotaro off guard. King Crimson would have to be a light speed fighter which he has feats of being as stated prior. Diavolo also evaded Mista's shots which are designed to redirect (again similar to the rat situation) Diavolo was able to avoid those with his reaction speed alone thus putting him above part 4 jotaro in raw reaction speed. So in short king crimson is a light speed fighter that can fight on par with part 3 star platinum in raw speed; there's no reason in my mind to say that jotaro couldn't be caught off guard by Diavolo.

Jotaro was only caught against the rat because A. The time in between time stops and B. The range of the rat’s attack We also see that even with Epitath and Time Skip Diavolo was still slow enough to get hit by Silver Chariot. The point with the rat is Star Platinums reaction speed to even getting hit or even having someone literally time stop and move behind him is amazing and we would be more than enough to wipe Diavolo at the moment of impact from King Crimson.This blanket idea that Jotaro would be super confused at teleportation or time skips seems silly since it’s a very similar phenomenon to Time Stop.

I think we can prove that time stop beats time skip. I say this because of the blood trick that polnereff uses. Because of those blood drops appearing it implies that time is still passing when he uses his time skip ability. However when time stop is activated no time passes at all which would mean that time stop removes the user from time itself therefore the jotaro would be able to attack Diavolo. I would agree that once time skip is activated Jotaro would not be able to activate time stop, however this does not matter as time skip has limiting range where as time stop does not and jotaro could simply activate it outside of that range. Personally I think that Star platinum is far an away the most powerful stand (except requims) in existence. Also it totally possible that time stop is spammable as it does not seem to have any stated cool down time.

After watching part 5 for myself and seeing how King Crimson's ability is displayed, I think I understand how this showdown would go. Given what we see of King Crimson, to say he "erases time" doesn't seem accurate to what actually happens and what we see from Diovolo's POV. I believe a better way to think about it is to say that King Crimson "erases himself from time", after using Epitaph to predict a set of events he's able to "step out" of time/fate. Now, Star Platinum freezes time for an arbitrary amount of "seconds", if you compare these two abilities to actual elapsed time, when Jotaro stops the clock time ceases to move. Regardless of "how long" time is frozen it doesn't matter in the long run as it appears as though everything that Jotaro did while time was stopped happened instantaneously once time begins to flow again. Diovolo having "stepped out" of the timeline would observe time as above, but the effects of King Crimson would apply to Jotaro since he's still a slave to his actions even while time is stopped, they would all just happen instantly. After Star Platinum's time stop, King Crimson still has 10 seconds to observe and plan his ambush. That being said, I still think Star Platinum would win off of his sheer speed alone once King Crimson stepped back into time. Basically, Jotaro is playing on Diovolo's field, King Crimson is the master of time, based solely on duration alone, but it would honestly come down to which of them used their ability first.

It is stated multiple times that “time will be eliminated for all but myself”, meaning that it removes time for everyone except Diavolo, not removing time FOR Diavolo. The fundamental difference between these is that your interpretation doesn’t account for no one knowing what they “did” in erased time while the interpretation I believe is correct accounts for this by the fact that they never did those actions to begin with since the time they did them in was deleted. I also disagree with your last statement that it depends on who uses their ability first, because Epitaph will let Diavolo always react early and let him erase time before he can be hit. We know Epitaph doesn’t require conscious activation to send a premonition because Diavolo received an unexpected premonition of Giorno using the arrow as well as Diavolo seeing Bucciarati behind the pillar. Diavolo will always see Jotaro’s usage of timestop before it happens regardless of if he understands it, and if he sees himself taking damage he will skip time at the correct moment to dodge it and pierce Jotaro while he can’t react (because it hasn’t been shown to happen in the premonition, since it was predicted that Jotaro would stop time and incapacitate Diavolo.) Even if Jotaro deflects or mitigates the damage of the attack, it is not possible for him to punch Diavolo without him expecting it, since he already knows the immediate future and can choose to delete it again, similar to how he erased time consecutively against Polnareff in both the flashback and against cripplereff. Long story short: just like any other stand, Star Platinum can’t do any attack without it getting skipped. King Crimson is literally invincible due to its abilities (it even says so in his first description). It was never defeated in reality-he was defeated by a stand that stopped the future from happening to him, and his premonition showed his victory to the end.

I think in a situation where they both activate their abilities simultaneously, they would cancel; let me explain. In Jotaro's case, he would have stopped time, but with the time erasure, he would feel like it went out instantaneously. In Diavolo's case, he would have erased time, but since the time being erased is the stopped time, where he can't feel or do anything, he would also feel as if it went out instantly. Of course, this is assuming there is time within the stopped time.

Ultimately the matchup depends entirely on how time skip and time stop interact with eachother, if time skip just completely negates time stop without downside I can see king crimson having enough power to take out star platinum quickly, any other outcome to the interaction does just end with star platinum ending king crimson without even breaking a sweat tho

Kc's future sight/time skip: view a limit of 10 future seconds in a small fraction of time and erase perception of time for opponents in a specific range (unknown because of diavolo's distance to all from opponents when used as seen when giorno noticed an inconsistency when walking) This won't skip over time stop nor see whats inside of it. KC also has a smaller range than star platinum seeing as there is no ranged attack, he has to be in star platinums range and because jotaro remains alert and can spam time stop diavolo has no way to counter unless he catches jotaro off quard like pucci did when jotaro was focused on protecting jolyne.

@@redacted606 I mean theoretically it technically won't prevent time stop from happening, but due to Diavolo being intangible while he's erasing time, Jotaro would be unable to affect him during the time stop. He'd think he did, but when reality would resume and Diavolo would still be unaffected. Diavolo would sort of just see Jotaro teleport without explanation, but nothing beyond that would happen. It really comes down to speed and power, and whether Diavolo can launch a killing strike quickly enough to take Jotaro out. Although in all likelihood, even if Diavolo kills Jotaro, Jotaro is strong enough and metal enough that he'd probably kill Diavolo as he went down via time stopping as soon as he receives the fatal wound.

Time skip is very similar to a meta character in my setting who's ability is meta manipulation (he must state his request whilst looking directly into the fourth wall such as 5 minutes later triggering a five minute time skip (with his meta manipulation allowing him full free will during the time skip) he can also request objects and information through the same method
