Thank you so much for uploading this! This is amazing how you got all of this footage! Considering I'm only 15 and I haven't been on this version since I was about 5 or 6, I don't remember the full experience, and this video shows everything. Again, thank you for making this! It probably took a lot of hard work.

I remember this so much more intense than the new star tours version. I was hoping the new star tours would up the ante in excitement not take a step back. Sure visuals are better, but the ride isn't as amazing. That trench run was the most amazing experience, and I'm certain the decibels were louder back then as well. Rode the ride from age 5 to age 28.

I loved this ride in 1987 when it first opened, beyond words, and I am actually amazed they kept this ride intact as long as they did in the Anaheim Disneyland Park, 1987-2010. I was 16 years old when this ride opened in 1987, and 39 years old in 2010 on it's last year as original. That's 23 years it ran this way! Glad to see it here again! The Force be with all of you!

My gosh the nostalgia for this ride. Such an amazing ride I was very sad to see it go and get updated. The update was great at first but now it just feels like it’s getting stale for me. This will always be a classic.
@annieoddo1475 Жыл бұрын
I work at this attraction now and just this morning we were doing a little backstage tour and talking all about the current version (2011 to present) versus the original. fun fact: back in the day, the cabins had film projectors at the front and the film ran under the floor to the back, zigzagged across the back wall and then ran back up to the front. If they had to stop a flight, they had to literally rewind the film before they could start it again. We are spoiled these days with digital systems that can be reset instantly at the push of a button. That aside, I love that this is one of those updated attractions that still has the classic feel of the original (it is the same ride, after all). I too remember riding with captain Rex as a kid and love that memory, but what we have now is such a fun modern counterpart. Can’t wait for the new show scenes!

My favorite part is the video that starts at 7:45, with the aliens buckling in with the humans. I was born in '95, so the announcer's side bun was already super old and funny-looking to me, and I miss it.
@MiMi_MoMo Жыл бұрын
Born in ‘94 and I feel the same way. I love the original because it has such an obvious 1980s aesthetic and vibe to it, but I also feel nostalgic for the “new” version too. And what I mean by the “new” version is the one from about 2011-2016 before they started inserting sequel trilogy stuff into it. I grew up with the prequels, so I always liked the Naboo stuff and other prequel callbacks. I also enjoyed the rebel spy part. I just can’t stand the sequel trilogy so I don’t have any desire to even ride it anymore….

Then after probably a decade later it would be my second time going to Disneyland and I even remember thinking to myself “did the changes Star Tours” like the Star speeder is now white and orange instead of white and blue, C-3PO is now the captain. I’m glad this isn’t a Mandela Effect thing and it’s exactly how I remembered it differently

Nebulous In regards to The Last Jedi Luke was not destroyed or botched in any way. His character was kept the same from at the end of “Return of the Jedi” he went over to the dark side for a moment to have Vader beat and realized what he was becoming before it was too late thus his throwing of the lightsaber. Also the side-plots with Finn and Poe are both excellent and necessary for the building of their characters as Finn risked their mission in Force Awakens just to be close to Rey as he didn’t know anything about Starkiller Base and needed to go to the Casino planet to care for someone other than himself. Also the codebreaker was basically someone who profited and didn’t care who he worked for and showed who Finn could become and both he and Rose were able to give inspiration and hope to the orphan children. In regards to Poe he needed to learn humility and listening to his leaders. Holdo didn’t have to explain anything to him he was demoted and she didn’t have to explain anything to him. Plus it was needy as he was very cocky and needed to think of the well being of others more than the success of a mission. Plus he didn’t want to be part of the legend of Skywalker and stories that built him up. Also there are far more people who love the film than hate it!
@nebulous66604 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmoyner7499 Sorry but you are completely wrong. Your opinion of Luke does not outweigh that of Mark Hamill himself or George Lucas. Luke saw the good in Vader and refused to kill him. A decision that he was ultimately rewarded for with Vader's redemption which brought an end to the war. After that, there's no way in hell Luke would try to kill his nephew in his sleep. He would die before giving up on him. Rian Johnson didn't do his research and let his ego get in the way of adhering to the established canon. Simple as that.
