Thank you for being one of the few reviewers who is actually honest about the state of a game and thanks for seeing things from the view of a consumer. It's really sad how dishonest some bigger reviewing sites have become and how scared they are to give a buggy/broken/bad game a bad score.

That is correct,thou i would go step further and get game through other means to check it by myself and if it turns out shit (like so many games sadly do) who cares you didn't trow away any money and if game is good you go and buy it and support developer. There is only one developer that i have full confidence they will release perfect working game and they are CD Prokekt Red.I already pre-order my copy of witcher 3

Angry Joe, Just so you know, Offline Co-op works on XBox. However if you stop to take a break. You have to replay the entire chapter you just played to continue the co-op experience. You can't continue from the spot where you took a break. I sent my game back as it is not worth 60 dollars.

Ummm... I'm not a Star Trek fan, tell me if I'm wrong: isn't Star Trek a quite open Universe? I mean, in Star Wars, for example, you can't set game around Yavin battle and not have Darth Vader, because he's a very powerful figure who will affect the (hypothetical) protagonist; but in Star Trek can't you just make a new ship with a new crew and new adventures for the game? Why bind it together with a movie?

It isn't insane to hope for a decent working game, despite a license. Travelers Tales made playing as Superman fun in Lego Batman 2. Also Rocksteady developed their own engine for Arkham Asylum and City. If you're referring to the actual mechanics of the game, you can trace all games back to somewhere. Most ideas are iterations of old ideas being reworked, that's just the way the world works. Joe is just saying company lied about the quality of the game and wouldn't let the game be reviewed.

well Dragons Dogma wasnt supposed to be a sequel it just added a huge part underground i think and was basically a rerelease but with a lot more content and i think you should review it at least a little bit because im a huge fan of DD and i dont think im the only one

Alright, here's a proposition to increase consumer awareness: every time there's a major embargo like a deliberate lack of review copies for a game, consumers should be told of this by reviewers and, hopefully, not buy it for at least a week, until the reviewers can get a good run of it and post their reviews. If its bad, we didn't waste our money sight unseen. If its good, the devs learn their tactic was unnecessary and do review copies next time. Of course, the second case isn't ever likely

It may be expected, but it should not be. In an ideal world, developers will work on the game until they have ironed out all the bugs before the game gets released. As it is now, many games are released with known bugs in them, relying on bug reports from the early buyers to find and fix them. The more games get backlash from poor launches, the less we should hopefully see of shoddy launches in the future.

a free copy of the game for the sake of reviewing. you request a copy with info showing you have a certain amount of veiwers on your page, if it's big enuf the makers of the game will give you a free copy. normally the review copy is given before the game is even released, hence why you'll notice big review site have reviews for games a day or two before it's released.

Agreed. I don't even want to buy games anymore. I've been disappointed, with almost ever single game I've bought for about a year, maybe year and a half now. I'm a die-hard Aliens fan, Warhammer 40k fan, and general Sci-Fi nerd. I've blown so much on so many utterly disappointing games. Ex: Dishonored, Colonial Marines, Space Marine, Defiance, Future Soldier... The list goes on. I really wish developers started caring again, about entertaining, not only making money.

It's filled with set pieces, (you know crap you can't control) the problem is they are so buggy often times when the game takes control from you it sends you flying off a cliff.

Yeah and so do my friends, and they have issues as well. Steam is horrible when it comes to playing offline. It tries to update in offline mode and link you to a website to see why you can't connect. Also half the DLC packs I get off of steam only work about 5 days after I've purchased them, and the release date count down timers are always days off. Counter Strike has a U.I. glitch they've never fixed still. Which inviting my friends to a game doesn't work and I can't click anything. It's legit

The difference is that the developers are not properly acknowledging that the problem exists. If a child breaks a vase, is it better they tell their mother they did it, or that they pretend the vase is still fine?
