I like that in the first clip, he didn't care about the fact they were escaping. He's disappointed that he caught the one man who knows the station better than him.

THE bond ODO has for his friends is so so strong... He never even Hesitated to open the door. :) Man I lve DS9 it truly is one epic Story!
@teleportedbreadfor3days3 жыл бұрын
He's been called cold, but in truth, his feelings are the strongest on DS9, and they last when he's not there. Odo's feelings are as healthy as Humans' but probably half the strength of Vulcans', if not around that. And if T'Pol from ENT and Picard mindmelding with Sarek has shown us anything, it's that Vulcan emotions are raw and very powerful.
@theghostinthemirror81582 жыл бұрын
@@teleportedbreadfor3days I got this too. I think changelings are obsessive by nature (to catastrophic effect when they hold grudges ex. Female changeling) but I think that it also intensifies Odo’s affection for his friends/love.

Always remember that Odo believes in justice, not law. The two are not always the same
@BlackDiamond271810 ай бұрын
The thing is law is flawed and justice is precise. Just that we cannot be so precise so that is why. But that is why in dungeons and dragons alignment is based between law and chaos and good and evil.

An honorable mention for the 'Odo letting people go' series: "Captive Pursuit". Odo is at Ops when they discover that O'Brien is helping one of his new alien friends escape, and Odo starts to to go after him when Sisko tells him, "There's no rush" and Odo just... saunters over to the elevator, turns around, and waits for a bit.

I think it was a bit of both. Odo had a massive sense of morals and justice. He was continually willing to enforce that despite what his superiors said... But... I think Quark hit it home. He would have done it anyway but not as easily and slightly begrudgingly.

Honestly i loved that little line "if anyone could of gotten someone out of a holding cell and off this station i thought it'd be you chief' it really does go to s how o'brein's reputation on the station. Honestly It's kind of ironic as O'brein is irish but he feels like the true succesor to scotty being a boarder line miracle worker in star fleet.

I always thought that he was just too caught up emotionally in the situation to be able to think properly. Odo was right, it should have been a walk in the park for O'Brien. But when we are panicked and emotional we tend to make rash spur of the moment decisions rather than logical thought out ones.
