It was so strong. You could feel T'Pol's frostyness. "Hell hath no fury like a Vulcan scorned." T'Pol had all the good lines: *"Three days. You were there three days and you couldn't restrain yourself!" *"One of the first things a diplomat learns is not to stick his fingers where they don't belong." *"Perhaps the next step would have been to meet her holographic parents” Damn! I miss her. Reminds me of my wife!

I'm still not sure who spilled the information to the crew. She could have just as another contemptuous gesture or it could have been Phlox babbling around as curious as he is about reproduction, mating rituals and cackling about people. I don't thik it could be Archer though as he's Trip's best friend.

At this stage all Vulcans were PISSED at primitive humans and PISSED with Andorians, Klingosn and Romulans. Jolene Blalock pulled of this scene to perfection with great writing, and no Mary-Sue-ing, no sjw-bs, just great Trek.
@kenparnell4297
@kenparnell4297 5 жыл бұрын
The Vulcans of this time period were extremely cautious and overly careful. Which is why it took them so long to rebuild their society and what scared the hell out of them about Earth folk. And let's be honest, Trip did have a thing for interspecies joyrides. Topal warned him about his lack of professionalism before he left on the mission and came home all knocked up.

@@Bayard1503 As a person who hasn't watched every episode of this show like I did with TNG and DS9... and a few of Voyager; How would you rate their relationship compared to others of the Star Trek series?... Troi and Riker's was too hollow, Troi and Worf was too unrealistic, Worf and Dax was a little more realistic but still felt forced, Tom and B'Elanna was also hollow. Like they needed a couple somewhere on the show so the writers just randomly picked those two and said good luck... The best was Odo and Major Kira but it was so long and strung out, while being an emotional roller coaster. Instead of awww, that's love, for most of the series I just remember saying "Poor Oda." How would you rank Trip and T'pol's romance?... Also I hear Hoshi and Dr Phlox had a romance; how was that?
@Shendue

That was my favorite scene in the entire show. Before Archer's promotion, they were best friends (still are) but the relationship changed. As I have already said, When a Vulcan claims you...T'Pol was incensed. This is what bonded Vulcans act like. She felt insulted and she needed satisfaction. This other alien lady was a "rival".Why do you think there is so much rage to the point of bloodletting surrounding mating and marriage? These particular touch telepaths--the Vulcans--are serious about "where you stick your fingers". Oh, we've got to have a few episodes more to tell a fuller story.

By definition, surprises ARE unexpected lol. But funny clip, this was a good show and by the 4th season it was awesome. Shame they ended it when the did.

its actually really disappointing that they didn't treat this seriously. I've seen other people mention it but this would have been a great opener into a conversation or exploration of informed consent. instead its made into a joke by one of trip's friends/superior officer and he is repeatedly not believed and blamed for it. i would hope and expect that any of the other series (especially tng onward) would have made a point with this. I'm honestly disappointed that enterprise didn't

I had the same immediate opinion both when I first saw the episode and every time I saw a sketch of it like now.

Analogy or not, this is effectively analogous as "he was raped and forced to carry the child". Not something that would be played for laughs with a woman

Part of the humor of this scene was Trip being so very obviously an anatomically correct human male.

More like contemptuous at this stage. She would think preposterous the idea of having sex with him even more ridiculous the idea to develop actual feelings. Doesn't mean she doesn't find him attractive. She nearly admits she is attracted to Archer in season 2 (episode in sick bay with the captain's dog) and that their rank difference made it simpler to them to avoid getting involved.
